Jardin Nelson provides an expansive open-air setting centered on a historic courtyard environment. The menu prioritizes sweet and savory crêpes prepared with diverse fillings ranging from fresh fruit to melted cheeses and roasted meats. These signature thin pancakes serve as the culinary foundation alongside an international selection of pressed sandwiches and light salads. The dining space features lush greenery and live musical performances that complement the al fresco atmosphere. Patrons utilize the tiered seating areas to view the surrounding plaza activities while consuming their selections. The preparation technique emphasizes consistent textures and classic flavor profiles suitable for casual consumption. Every element of the service reflects a focus on accessibility and efficient delivery within a high-traffic pedestrian environment, ensuring that the primary culinary offerings remain the focal point of the visitor experience.
Jardin Nelson is widely celebrated for its enchanting atmosphere, featuring a beautiful garden courtyard, vibrant greenery, and consistent live jazz performances that create a truly magical dining experience in Old Montreal. While many guests praise the diverse menu and highlight standout dishes like the crepes, ribs, and seafood, others find the food quality inconsistent, sometimes describing it as ordinary or overpriced. Service experiences vary significantly, ranging from highly professional and attentive to occasional delays, yet the restaurant remains a popular destination for its unique, romantic, and lively setting that consistently draws both locals and tourists year after year.
Great food & great service. Food is well-seasoned & we liked the vibe of the place.
There could be a line as it is located in a busy area but the food was worth it.
Highly recommended when visiting Old Montreal. A little touristy price-wise but we will definitely be coming back.
Wonderful experience!! Our waitress Jean (i'm not sure if I spelled that write I apologize) was wonderful, as well as the rest of the staff we interacted with. I have severe food allergies & she was very willing to be accommodating & made sure to clarify as much as necessary, asking me questions to make sure every ingredient was safe for me to eat, & even modifying the pizza I ordered to confirm further it's safe. It's always amazing to experience a staff so willing to accommodate my dietary restrictions & make sure I have a wonderful experience. & I'd be remised not to mentioned how absolutely beautiful the restaurant is.

We had a beautiful family dinner this past Sunday during our quick trip from the Boston area. Our waitress Mariebier was fabulous! The place was packed but she still spent so much time with us, making sure our drinks & meals were satisfying. She was so fun to converse with as well. Thank you for making us feel right at home!
J'adore simplement cet endroit.
LES FROMAGES! I SPENT TWENTY TWO FULL DOLLARS ON 6 SLICES OF CHEESE. & each slice was so small. Thats like 4 dollars per slice of cheese, thats half a bubble tea for a bite of cheese. How is this even legal. This made my evening so sad, im just sad now. Maybe im not a cheese expert, but cheeses from the grocery store a fraction of the cost tasted similar. Dollar to taste ratio is just atrocious here for cheese. I was expecting a lot more cheese with 22 dollars, thats 6 mcdoubles. & look at the first picture posted, the size of that cheese, the saddness it emits, the tears it causes.
The diva crepe was okay though.
It's a restaurant with a great atmosphere, live jazz music, & affordable prices. However, the cocktails were not of the best quality-they were very sweet & lacked flavor.
Atmosphère très agréable & service impeccable de la part de Cam, qui nous a proposé d'excellentes suggestions de desserts. Le pudding chômeur était absolument succulent.
