Had a fantastic experience at Jardin Nelson! La pizza était absolument délicieuse, with fresh ingredients & amazing flavor. The fries were perfectly crispy, & the salad was fraîche, généreuse, & just as impressive.
Le personnel était chaleureux & attentionné, making us feel welcome throughout the meal. The overall atmosphere was charming, & the excellent service made the experience even better. Have visited twice & consistently loved the live jazz, warm service, & beautiful ambiance.
Our first meal was excellent: shrimp & seafood tostada, duck confit with summer salad, & duck shepherd's pie - all memorable. On our second visit, the poke salmon, salmon tartare, & its accompanying salad were standouts. The pizza Américaine, however, was forgettable - clearly not the place for pizza but I had a craving.
Drinks were great (the maple latte especially), but I do want to flag one issue: charging **$6 for a can of Coke Zero** is unreasonable & excessive. It's the only part of the experience that left a negative impression, especially since we only discovered the price on the bill. At that price, a fountain soda with refills would make more sense, but even then $6 is egregious for a mere can of soda! I'd strongly encourage reconsidering the pricing - $3 or $4 would be fair & still make you lots of money.
Otherwise, Jardin Nelson remains a lovely spot we enjoy & recommend.
We came for family dinner on their front patio. The staff & atmosphere were nice. It rained while we were there & their coverage is great. We remained dry & were able to enjoy our meal despite the downpour. The food is overpriced for the quality. We had the baked brie which was nice but served with dry, stale crostinis. The duck leg was not fresh & meat was dry. French onion soup was delicious & so was Cesar salad. Some small improvements can make the food much better. Patio is pet friendly which is lovely. The service was great.
Nous sommes allés au Jardin Nelson en famille &, dans l'ensemble, nous avons passé un bon moment. L'ambiance est vraiment agréable, surtout avec le groupe de jazz qui jouait en direct. C'était très relaxant & les enfants ont beaucoup aimé écouter les musiciens pendant le repas.
Par contre, j'ai un avis plus mitigé sur la nourriture. Nous avons commandé une salade César, un avocado toast & des macaronis pour les enfants. Les plats étaient corrects, mais j'ai trouvé le rapport qualité-prix assez décevant. L'avocado toast, notamment, était très cher pour ce qui était servi : une seule tranche de pain, une très fine couche de guacamole, quelques tranches de saumon fumé, des graines & une petite salade en accompagnement. Pour le prix, je m'attendais à quelque chose de beaucoup plus généreux.
Le temps d'attente nous a aussi semblé assez long, surtout considérant la simplicité des plats. J'ai également demandé s'il était possible de préparer un poke sans l'ingrédient piquant, mais on m'a répondu que ce n'était pas possible puisque tout était déjà préparé, ce que j'ai trouvé un peu dommage.
Bref, c'est un bel endroit où l'on va surtout pour l'ambiance & la musique. Si c'était uniquement pour le repas, je ne suis pas certaine que j'y retournerais
Je fréquente le Jardin Nelson depuis plusieurs années. C'est un restaurant que j'attends avec impatience chaque été, dès l'ouverture de la terrasse. J'y ai créé de beaux souvenirs & je l'ai recommandé à plusieurs personnes au fil des ans.
Malheureusement, ma visite d'hier a été de loin la pire expérience culinaire que j'y ai vécue.
Nous avons dépensé plus de 200 $ &, honnêtement, rien n'était à la hauteur. Les tacos étaient froids, la salade, habituellement si savoureuse, était fade au point où j'ai dû ajouter du sel & du poivre, ce que je n'ai jamais eu à faire auparavant. Même ma sangria au litchi, que je commande à chacune de mes visites & que j'adore, avait un goût complètement différent. J'ai même demandé au serveur s'il y avait eu une erreur. Il est allé vérifier auprès du bar & est revenu en me confirmant que c'était bien la sangria au litchi. Pourtant, elle ne ressemblait en rien à celle que je connais.
J'avais invité une amie à découvrir le Jardin Nelson pour la première fois, convaincue qu'elle vivrait la même belle expérience que moi. Nous sommes toutes les deux reparties extrêmement déçues. Nous nous sommes même dit que nous n'y retournerions pas cet été, tellement la qualité nous a déçues.
C'est particulièrement triste parce que cet endroit a toujours occupé une place spéciale pour moi. J'espère sincèrement que cette baisse de qualité n'est qu'un incident isolé & que le Jardin Nelson retrouvera rapidement le niveau qui a fait sa réputation pendant toutes ces années.
Service was very slow & the food subpar. The French onion soup was tasty but way too salty, the calamari was fishy & rubbery, & the Caesar salad was wilted & tasteless. Very disappointing overall.
I am a regular here. However, tonight was my worst experience yet & I am not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon. My crepe order was completely botched with multiple ingredients missing & my specific request for removing the olives was not complied with at all. The salad I ordered also didn't taste fresh & overall, I was left with a completely unsatisfactory experience & a fear of eating out ever again due to the fact that I have a severe eating disorder & this meal was beyond disappointing for someone who is ultra restrictive & selective with her food intake. Eating in general, but particularly at restaurants is very challenging for me & this meal was beyond sub par & traumatizing for me.
Terrasse fleurie avec musiciens. Excellent service. Nous avons tous aimé nos plats. Nous fréquentons ce restaurant depuis des années. La salade de homard est incroyable, je vous la recommande!

This is a must see place. Multiple places to dine in, outdoor front patio with lots to see, inside, & in the back patio which is where we were. Really cool vibe.
Cocktails were imaginative & delicious. Don't skip the beet salad!
