Jardin Nelson provides an expansive open-air setting centered on a historic courtyard environment. The menu prioritizes sweet and savory crêpes prepared with diverse fillings ranging from fresh fruit to melted cheeses and roasted meats. These signature thin pancakes serve as the culinary foundation alongside an international selection of pressed sandwiches and light salads. The dining space features lush greenery and live musical performances that complement the al fresco atmosphere. Patrons utilize the tiered seating areas to view the surrounding plaza activities while consuming their selections. The preparation technique emphasizes consistent textures and classic flavor profiles suitable for casual consumption. Every element of the service reflects a focus on accessibility and efficient delivery within a high-traffic pedestrian environment, ensuring that the primary culinary offerings remain the focal point of the visitor experience.
Jardin Nelson is widely celebrated for its enchanting atmosphere, featuring a beautiful garden courtyard, vibrant greenery, and consistent live jazz performances that create a truly magical dining experience in Old Montreal. While many guests praise the diverse menu and highlight standout dishes like the crepes, ribs, and seafood, others find the food quality inconsistent, sometimes describing it as ordinary or overpriced. Service experiences vary significantly, ranging from highly professional and attentive to occasional delays, yet the restaurant remains a popular destination for its unique, romantic, and lively setting that consistently draws both locals and tourists year after year.
One of my favourite spots in town - great vibe, live music, & a lovely garden setting.
The food is always on point: beef tartare, seafood pizza, & tuna bowl are absolute must-tries. So fresh & full of flavour!
Perfect for a relaxing meal with friends. Highly recommend!

I was there on June 18, 2026, our food was excellent, I was not sure about what to order & was guided by the waitress, & my choice was exquisite. The service staff was also great, & even though it was a rainy day we enjoyed the patio, & simple love the decoration. A beautiful place with a great service & lovely music. I would recommend it.
Imagine spending $300 to celebrate someone's upcoming wedding then going to the bathroom to have a male employee follow you into the woman's bathroom & tell you he needs to clean the bathroom. Not waiting outside or anything. Just yelling at you while you're in a stall & holding the bathroom door wide open until you leave. What's even creepier is that he didn't have any cleaning supplies in his hands, on a cart, or outside the bathroom. Terrible service, sub par food, & your staff should be ashamed of themselves for such an uncomfortable & embarrassing experience. Also, stop telling people you don't accept tables of more then 6 if you have a table of 10 right at your front checkin.
Overall, a great vibe, food was good, service was nonexistent, & the live music was great.
The line wasn't too long, & the patio is very nice. However, it took 23min for a staff member to come by, so good thing we have live music. The food was delicious, & the poke was nice & fresh. The ribs were remarkable, honestly, very surprised.
