Absolutely visit Jardin Nelson for their beautiful garden & nightly jazz! We stopped by on our first night in Montreal & the atmosphere made a lovely first impression. However, the food is sub-par & overpriced & the seating is not the comfiest. But despite that I still recommend checking it out for the vibes.
Je vais au Jardin Nelson quelques fois par année surtout l'été pour la belle terrasse intérieure. La musique d'ambiance avec de bons musiciens jazz & la nourriture est excellente. Mathis, notre serveur, impeccable. Mais quelle déception car les nachos ont changé! Auparavant, c'était une immense assiette avec de bons nachos à plusieurs étages garnis comme de bons nachos, poivrons, olives noires, fromage etc etc, c'était spectaculaire & délicieux. Maintenant, on nous sert des nachos (genre chips pas goûteux, pas salé?) & trois pots pour garnir avec sauce épinards, fromage avec coriandre (plusieurs détestent la coriandre) & autre garniture aux canneberges (la meilleure). J'avais recommandé ce plat aux copines! Ouf! Vraiment décevant! Vivement revenez aux bons vieux nachos comme on en sert partout dans les restos.

A magical evening in Old Montreal at Jardin Nelson. The outdoor garden in absolutely stunning with so many beautiful flowers & plants. The jazz performed while dining was so enjoyable. The food was amazing ... terrific presentation & sublime flavour. &, the menu options are plentiful. The service is extraordinary ... it is obvious that the team is well trained & very efficient. A special thanks to our server, Milan - her welcoming smile & cheerful attitude made our experience at Jardin Nelson memorable.
La crêpe forestière aux champignons est très bonne ainsi que le Pina Colada. Terrasse agréable & musicien à partir de 18h00. & pour finir un bon service sur une belle terrasse.
The ambiance was nice! I sat outside. Now, the food was underwhelming & overpriced. I ate the lobster roll.(40$) It was salad or fries. I took the salad & I wish it had more garnish like; cranberries, apples, nuts, & seeds. For the lobster, it was bland. Maybe 2 lobster rolls with salad &/or a bit of fries for 40$ or cut the price a bit...

Encore fois, très satisfait par ce restaurant! Cette fois nous avions une chanteuse accompagnée de deux musiciens! Très jolie voix! Merci d'avoir contribué à cette ambiance! J'adore!
Heureusement que la terrasse, la décoration & le groupe live étaient agréables, sinon payer plus de 100 $ pour une nourriture qui laisse à désirer est très décevant. Nous avons pris le Mac & cheese aux fruits de mer, qui était décrit dans le menu comme un mélange riche & réconfortant de fruits de mer, mais finalement, c'était des pâtes au fromage dans lesquelles on trouve une quantité médiocre d'une seule sorte de fruit de mer. Le plat était tellement salé que nous n'avons pas pu en finir même la moitié. Nous avons aussi pris la lasagne de légumes au gratin & le goût était moyen. Ces deux plats ne sont pas à recommander. Nous avons par contre essayé la bière blanche en fût & le mocktail moût de pomme & framboise, & c'était très bon. Le service est relativement lent mais les hôtesses & serveuses étaient gentilles & professionnelles. La seule grande déception est la nourriture, qui n'est pas fidèle à ce qui est décrit dans le menu.
Our server Kevin made our night. Food is not bad & for a decent price. Ambiance is great. The hostesses were very kind & accommodating for our group of 8. The live jazz music was very nice. Thanks Kevin!

What an amazing atmosphere! They have amazing live jazz band which added to the experience! Food was pretty good but what made the experience exceptional was our server Kevin. Despite it being so busy at the restaurant, he made us feel so welcome & was so attentive throughout the evening. He was truly the best & so kind!!! Can't wait to return when I come back to Montreal. Shoutout to Kevin!!
Great restaurant with outdoor seating right in old Montréal. Our server (did not get his name) was awesome, he was attentive & personable. We had a late lunch here & then returned for dinner & the live jazz music. We thought the wait time for a table would be long. There was a line already formed when we got there. However, we waited about 15 minutes. for a table. The atmosphere is upbeat & fun. We had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, drinks were too & reasonably priced.
