I visited this restaurant after I came across it in the Japanese food festival. This is currently my new favvvv Japanese restaurant !! I ordered the following food items: - Gyu Tataki - Butabara Yakitori Style - Shoyu Tonkotsu Baka Ramen - Kuromayu Ramen - Raindrop Cake The Gyu Tataki, it's a dish featuring thinly sliced seared beef, was a revelation of textures & flavors. Each tender bite was complemented by the tangy citrus-infused sauce. This was my absolute favourite.
Fun place, amazing ramen & service is very friendly, especially for Montreal
The service was great at the bar table as well. Antoine was amazing, kind & respectful, attending to us whenever we needed
We just ate here as a group of six before a movie at the forum. Great food (tasty & fresh), service & atmosphere & they accommodated us even though we were on a time crunch. We had a mix of the specials, ramen, grilled & fried stuff & everything was good. Would recommend & would be back.
Amazing food, probably my new favorite Izakaya in Montreal. Food was very fresh & tasty, we had the Okonomiyaki, ramen, takoyaki & Japanese fries. Very authentic feel to the place, the whole kitchen staff is Japanese & everyone welcomes you with a « irasshaimse » when you come in. Our waitress Min was a sweetheart & I recommend asking for her if you go 💕 restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but trust me it's worth a try. Will be back for sure!
Amazing atmosphere, great service. They go above & beyond to make you happy & give you a great night to remember. The only downside was the Ramen, it lacks flavor.
I read that this is one of the best izakayas in Montreal but that was not my experience at all. There wasn't anything authentic about the food & there was something off about every dish. It felt like amateur hour in the kitchen. We ordered a bunch of appetizers & ramen. The "okay" dishes were the shrimp mayo & yukke, though both lacked refinement. The shrimps were big & fried well, but the pieces of nuts were chunky & odd. The yukke was seasoned well but the strands of beef made it look like it had been put through a meat grinder without being cut properly. It was just weird to be eating long, thick stings of beef. Everything else went downhill from there. The karaage was over fried, dry & not juicy. The okonomiyaki was literally pancake batter with a few tiny pieces of tako - it tasted like a bunch of takoyaki flattened into a pancake shape. The gindara cod was cooked well, but it was such a small piece & the marinade was overly sweet with no other flavour. It felt so homecooked. The worst offender was the ramen. We waited so long for this that we weren't really hungry anymore. But this has got to be the worst ramen I've eaten in my life. The broth was so thick & heavy that it tasted more like a stew. The noodles were undercooked & tasted like spaghetti. The chashu slices did not taste fresh. Neither of us could eat more than a few bites because it was just so bad! Honestly, my experience here has scarred me from trying out other Japanese places in Montreal if this is considered one of the "best"...
Their tonkotsu ramen is one for the best I have tried in the city.
Amazing Japanese restaurant with great beer & even better food. Think more like tapas style with a ton of shareable plates & the best ramen I've ever had!
A great Japanese restaurant for Ramen & other delectable Japanese delicacies =) Prices are good, staff are nice & the decor inside is quite quaint. It's located almost on the edge of downtown Montreal.
a good place to chat, drink. But the background music was a little bit noisy. The ramen is too little. The karage is pretty good.
Very tasty ramen. It's to be noted thought that most of the seating is on boxes so there are no backs
Me & my boyfriend went there 2 times already. The food is overall quite good, I had beef tongue for the first time of my life, it was tasty, the grilled calamari were okay, the ramen soup was quite nice, the broth had a lot of taste. For the drinks we had 3 cocktails from their cocktail menu, their Long Island ice tea, was mostly tasting gin with some floral infusion. Overall we had a great night, it’s worth the stop for the ambiance as well!
