Food was very average for the very upscale prices. Extensive wine list, but again very very I stress very well marked up. Again, I do not mind a good bottle of wine, but the Barolo we had was more than tripled up. So what you would get in a very good Italien restaurent, will cost you about 50-60% more at Il Campari Centro.
I also have to stress that this was my second visit. After our first visit, we were frankly disappointed however, we decided to give it another go last time in Montreal. Needless to say, both visits were equally unspectacular, so last time I visit this place. Although the food was just ok, one expect a much better dining experience for the price.
While out for a walk near our hotel in downtown Montreal, we came across the Il Campari Centro and decided to try it since my husband and I both love Italian food. The service, food and ambience were absolutely the best! We started with the buffalo mozzarella cheese that is flown in fresh from Italy, and the calamari fritti, followed by the tagliatelle and vegetable risotto. My husband chose a 2014 Brunello wine which was excellent! Dessert was Tiramisu. One of the best I've had! Presentation was excellent. Our very knowledgeable and attentive waiter Ahmed, kept our wine glasses filled and we enjoyed some pleasant conversation with him about the sights of Montreal and hockey and football. A really lovely evening and would highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Food is absolutely delicious, authentic tasting Italian cuisine at it's finest. The restaurant itself is very old looking but it adds to the charm.
We discovered Il Campari through friends 4 years ago. It's our family's favourite Italian restaurant in Montreal, we always go there for birthdays and anniversaries. Delicious food, great customer service and unforgettable desserts. We definitely recommend Il Campari!!!
After having just enjoyed one of the most memorable meals in a long time, tbe wait staff was beyond fantastic, attentive without being intrusive.
I had the osso bucco which was fall off the bone tender, and they happily swapped out the veg for risotto with porcini mushroom as the side. My companion had their cavatelli with fresh vegetable which was incredible - (which for me says a lot since I'm a carniovore at heart) how does one elevate a fairly simple pasta with veg to such high levels?
Wine list is spectacular and we enjoyed our meal with a spectacular 1985 Frescobaldi Mormoreto. Never had the feeling of being rushed and in fact, they encouraged us to take us much time as we wanted. Finished off the evening (midnight by this time), with a round of 20 year port followed by another round that was offered to us on the house. Never have I felt so welcome and felt like I was in someone's home the ambience was so ingratiating. Highly recommend - you won't regret it!.

The 3 men who were with me insisted I try
a bit of veal marsala, a bit of linguini amatriciana and the fish of the day. Equally good was the calmars fried.

As Chicagoans, we are blessed with an overwhelming number of the finest Italian restaurants outside of Italy. So we assumed during our recent trip to Montreal that no restaurant there could even come close to the superb Italian cuisine we're accustomed to. Were we ever wrong! As luck would have it, we were staying at Le Crystal Hotel, directly across the street from Il Campari Centro. Although there was another Italian restaurant on the same block, we decided that Il Campari Centro looked more inviting. The moment we walked into this incredibly beautiful dining room, the proprietor Pietro warmly greeted us with a big smile, escorted us to a perfectly located table, and within five minutes of conversation had us feeling as if we had been longtime friends of his. And then there was our simply excellent waiter Franco, who epitomizes first class professional service. Our wine glasses were never empty and neither were our plates! And what terrific wine and food it was! The finest Riesling we have ever tasted. The food? Insanely delicious---the freshly baked warm bread, the amazing home made prosciutto (best ever!), outrageously delicious calamari, succulent veal, ridiculously flavorful lasagna, and let's not even talk about the fantastic desserts. Let's just say that we happily waddled back across the street to the hotel like a couple of plump Canadian geese! The outstanding cuisine we enjoyed at Il Campari Centro matched and in some instances exceeded that of the finest Italian restaurants we have been to in both Chicago and Italy. What was in a total class by itself, however, was the incomparable service rendered to us by Pietro and Franco. That is what made our dining experience perfect, and we know exactly where we will be eating Italian when we visit Montreal again.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Every dish I've ever tried was delicious, and yes, the desserts are heavenly!
Wow is all I can think of when describing this restaurant. It is located in a beautiful building with amazing detail. This place is probably the most reasonably priced Italian restaurant I've ever been too, and it was worth it. This is a perfect place to take your girl to for a romantic evening and trust me, the food and ambience will not disappoint her.
What a great place to go eat. It's well located right downtown of montreal. There is a free parking in the park of the restaurant. U just have to say that u are coming to eat at il campari. The food is great. I had some osso bucco that melt in my mouth! U really have to go try that place. The wyne is private import that you wont find anywwere that there and its great. Nothing to complaint about!!! The waiter gave us a excellent service. There is italian music that gave a super nice ambiance!!!! You have to go there....

La nourriture est excellente et le service est impeccable. J'ai été à ce restaurant à plusieurs reprises.
De plus, le fait qu'il y a un stationnement inclus à l'arrière du restaurant est très apprécié parce qu'il est souvent difficile de trouver du stationnement dans le centre ville.
Je recommande ce restaurant!
ps: très bien situé pour avant ou après un événement au centre Bell puisqu'il est situé directement en face du centre Bell.

Quel bon resto typique cuisine italienne avec une excellente cuisine. Le service es très bon et rapide .Ce resto est parfait avant un concert au centre bell .
Been there several times. Conveniently located near the Bell Centre but I prefer going there by on less hectic nights. Ask for Serge. Love the V. Chop. Love the gnocchi gorganzola. Don't love the gymm.

Very disappointing! Three of us went here as a birthday treat. No-one welcomed us, just a brusque showing to our table. The stone-faced waiter asked what we would like to drink. My teetotal friend asked for water and we were brought a bottle of mineral water, for which we were later charged $8. Two of us shared a bottle of Due Torre merlot, which cost $50 plus tax!! We ordered starters of soup of the day (Minestrone) and Salmon Tartare, main courses of Risotto Porcini, Risotto with vegetables and veal scallopine. The place was less than half-full, and waiters were rushing around looking very busy. After more than one hour, we had not received any food. My friend asked the waiter when we could expect to eat, and 10 minutes later, the starters finally appeared. The soup and Salmon Tartare were acceptable. After another wait of 30 minutes, my friend caught the waiter and gestured at his watch, to which the waiter replied "I'm not the cook!" Finally the main courses arrived. The Risotto Porcini was gluey and excessively salted. The veal scallopini was small but tender, and the vegetable risotto was acceptable. The staff seems to have perfected the art of ignoring the customer, never making eye contact. Needless to say, we did not order dessert, just coffee which was brought very quickly at this point, along with the bill for the overpriced meal. The food alone cost $116, which is way overboard for what we had. We won't be going back.

My hubby wanted some Amarone Montresor for wine. Come to think of it I loved it too!

We had a craving for mushrooms.
We decided to get there very early around 4:30
WE began with grilled mushrooms .
Then we split a risotto porcini.
And after that veal scaloppini with
porcini and him the veal chop with mushrooms.
Since it was my birthday my hubby spoiled me with anoutstanding Brunello. Merci! Merci!
