The food was great, but it is quite annoying that we couldn't order off the ramen menu just because we reserved. Maybe it makes sense for later reservations, but we reserved for 18:00, & when I got there the place was practically empty. If I had just walked in off the street we would have been good to go, but because I reserved we were restricted to the Izakaya menu, which to be fair was excellent anyway so can't really complain. I'd recommend not bothering with reservations unless you know you plan to go at a busy time.

The place can get a bit cramped, & I strongly recommend booking in advance if you have a party of more than 2 towards the end of the week, but it has a great atmosphere for a guys or girls night out. I also recommend the spot for a casual date as there are some fun appetizers to share like the karage & the cocktails are decent as well. The ramen is decent & the prices are fairly reasonable.

I recently visited this Japanese restaurant during the Montreal à Table event & it was a delightful experience! Our highlight was undoubtedly the first course, "Guy tartare" - a culinary marvel where the flavors blended seamlessly, creating a memorable start. The second course, "salmon confit with fennel", was perfectly cooked but pretty bland to our taste. However, the meal picked up again with the creamy & flavorful "mushroom mazemen". The restaurant's popularity was clear, with a line outside even at 5pm. Definitely a place I'd recommend to friends.

Un magnifique moment!
Le restaurant a oublié de m'appeler pour m'informer qu'il n'y avait pas de menu Montréal à table le samedi. Pour s'en excuser, le restaurant a concocté à mon copain & moi un menu à partager & a même appliqué un rabais pour s'excuser du manque de communication...il n'y a pas à dire le service était impeccable & le client est traîté aux petits oignons!!
& que dire de la qualité des tapas japonaises Un vrai bonheur pour les papilles & c'est sans parler des cocktails qui sont recherchés avec l'ajout d'un ingrédient typique du Japon!
Je recommande le restaurant Ichigo sans hésiter & nous y retournerons avec certitude!

Our server was very very nice, I didn't get his name unfortunately, the food was extremely delicious, the service wasn't fast or slow, they didn't make us feel like we had to scarf down our food & leave. I had to move the reservation from 7:15pm to 9:15pm not only did they move my reservation but they were so nice about it & cordial. Definitely recommend & this has become my favorite hidden gem. If I could I would rate it a 10 out 5. LOVED IT

Je viens souvent ici pour les ramens qui sont délicieux, mais je recommande encore plus la partie tapas avec alcools. Le bun au crabe est une tuerie, le plum wine un délice... & surtout le service incroyable. On a eu la chance d'être servis par Mathilde, qui a été d'une gentillesse & d'un professionnalisme impeccable ! On a même pu boire un verre avec elle. Que des bons souvenirs, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !

Japanese izakaya dishes with wafu inspired nuanced & delicate flavours. I'd recommend staying with the more traditional Japanese dishes as some of the fusion dishes don't always live up to their menu description. One of my go to restaurants in Montreal.

Superbe expérience dans la section tapas!
On a donné carte blanche à la serveuse qui nous a sélectionné des plats à partager tout simplement délicieux! Ma Sapporo Yuzu était une belle découverte! Je recommande cet endroit à 100%!

Wow! Exceeded expectations. Food was outstanding, Tasty, nicely spiced, & beautifully presented. Service was extremely welcoming & professional - helped suggest menu items. Really fun environment - cool music too. Will definitely recommend & return.

Best Asian-inspired meal I've ever had. Great music & atmosphere. Young funky crowd. Worn minimalist wooden furniture in a dark, casual space. Fun, innovative cocktails. Amazing Asian dishes served tapas style, each with a creative, surprising spin. We loved the ichigo tonic cocktail & ichigo IPA, a deep-fried eggplant dish, the udon noodles with mushrooms, the black cod, & especially the hamachi sashimi. Service was superb — friendly, knowledgeable, & efficient. Even the desserts were great — tiramisu matcha & a donut dish. Highly recommend this restaurant.
