Atmosphere was packed on Wednesday, Dec 17, 2025, so better RSVP in advanced. Food was fresh & fragrant but I loved the Chestnut Tiramisu. It's about 10-20$ per food ordered, so I highly recommend coming here on a date, wedding celebration, or with friends. For food, it's best to share unless you're here for the ramen. Our order took a long time so the waitress offered us her own special shots drink, not pictured. (I ordered the cold takowasa, karaage, edamame, & tiramisu of the month which was chestnut. My friend ordered takoyaki & mochi doughnuts).
Really poor experience.. food was super disappointing, atmosphere was uncomfortable, seating was unbearable (we had to hold our jackets while we eat…) & services was subpar (waited 15 minutes after being seated so we can have our order taken..). Avoid if you can. Neotokyo or Tori Ramen in Royalmount are significantly better options.
Excited to eat here but disappointing. I'd recommend skipping this restaurant. I've lived in Japan & eaten tons of ramen. My wife is Japanese. This is not authentic or what you want if you are looking for anything authentic. Not sure how they got a Michelin Star rating or why people would wait 30-45mins to eat here. Service was not so great. Food overpriced. Server asked us to wait in the basement near the bathrooms until a table was ready??? Should have left at that point. We ordered karaage which was the best part of our meal. It was well done but normal quality you find at any Japanese restaurant. However it was brought to our table with no plates. Had to request them. Server barely came to our table. Ramen was no where near the quality of real Japanese ramen. Chashu was diced which is weird & broth was not delicious or salty enough. Thin noodles were too thin & thick normal noodles you usually get for most ramen. Teriyaki was yummy but not salty enough. Overall disappointed with our eating experience here. Check came out to $85 which we thought was crazy high for the level of service & quality of ramen.
Food is great, however if you make a reservation you cannot order a ramen which is weird tbh, otherwise food is good
Ramen has always been good at this location but with the years the service has gone from bad to worse.
No possibility of reservations & coming to wait 30 to 50 min on place. & then they assigned us to a bar booth when upstairs there was a full floor of empty tables.
Also another person gets a full table before us because he'knew' the guy that was handling reservations even if he arrived way later.
To wait a full hour & then minutes just to be seated at a bar with no space for your coats & legs when there is a full floor of empty tables upstairs it's ridiculous.
Hire more people so you can open your top floor & give customers the service they deserve.
You have the space & the good food, customers deserve to be treated well, no matter how popular this spot has become.
This spot is always packed except for super late at night. They do not take reservations for the ramen side of the restaurant, so I recommend getting there earlier than you'd want to eat. Put your name in & go a block over to a bar & have a drink & play cards/watch a game before being called in as it can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes for a table to be ready. The environment & staff are wonderful. Watching the kitchen work is like watching an orchestra perform; it is an act of art. The food is great, though I'd recommend their appetizers more than their ramen. Personally, I found the ramen to lack flavor, but the broth was wonderful. The fried chicken appetizer is to die for. Definitely experiment with your ramen bowl as the ordering process is designed for your own creation. I'd recommend getting thick & not thin noodles as I believe choosing thin added to my negative bias towards my meal.
Great options if you want to splurge, as well as a solid customized ramen bowl. Give the cocktails a shot, there's some things you can't get elsewhere.
Excellent expérience but waited to long for the ramen
Incroyable ramen, ambiance top
Their famous ramen is very good, but this restaurant also has amazing side dishes. I had one of the best takoyakis in town. Their karaage is also worth trying. On the other hand, the space isn't too large, & it is usually pretty crowded inside.
