Review Summary

Overall, Hurley's Irish Pub comes across as a Montreal institution, offering a welcoming two floor layout with cozy corners, live music, and a festive Celtic atmosphere that works for pre game buzz or a relaxed night out. Reviewers praise a tremendous beer selection and an impressive whiskey list, along with solid pub fare and standout dishes like beef stew or a hearty fish and chips, though some meals have been noted as inconsistent and portions as smaller since Covid. Staff receive frequent compliments for friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to a warm, engaging vibe across multiple visits. Two levels, a downstairs intimate space and an upstairs area with music, plus a terrace, are highlighted as great features that add to the original charm, though crowds can push seating and service during peak times. While prices can be on the higher side and a few menu items have been cut back, the overall sentiment is that this pub delivers a top notch experience for beer lovers, sports crowds, and fans of live Irish music. Many say they will return, making this a go to spot in Montreal for those seeking good drinks, lively entertainment, and a friendly crowd.

One of my favorite places in MTL. For those who love dark/cozy pubs. The staff is incredibly friendly. You feel like you've coming to this pub for years. They have very good live music. The thing I like the most in this place is that they have some living areas with armchairs & small sofas. It's not only tables & chairs. I love it every time I come here. I'm sure you will have a good time. Cherrs 🍻

I've been to a lot of Irish pubs, in Canada, Russia & even Ireland. Well, I'd like to say with fervor that this is one of the best Irish pubs in all of Montreal. There's a real warm atmosphere here. Something I haven't felt since confinement. & the authenticity, from the decor to the Irish music, really shines through. I highly recommend

Hurley's Irish Pub: A beer enthusiast's haven with a wide selection. Pub ambiance is top-notch, but the burgers fall short. Ideal for drinks, but consider other options if a satisfying meal is on your agenda.

I try to stop in whenever I'm in Montreal. It's especially lively after events at the Centre Bell. If you are lucky enough to hit a night when Patrick Lesyk & Solstice are playing downstairs, I dare you not to have a good time. One of my favorite pubs & favorite house bands anywhere.
Tip: the main room where the band plays can fill up quickly. It's really more enjoyable if you can find a spot in here. Most people are cool with letting you join if they have a couple free chairs...or just stay on the dance floor.

The beers & specials are good, with friendly service & lots of outdoor seating. But the salads are a bit flavorless & burgers a bit dry. A good choice of pub downtown.
