About

Hurley's Irish Pub delivers an authentic atmosphere defined by traditional woodwork and a robust selection of imported stouts. The menu centers on classic pub fare, featuring signature beer-battered fish and chips served with house-made tartar sauce and thick-cut fries. Hearty portions of shepherd's pie highlight the commitment to consistent comfort food staples that satisfy guests seeking substantial plates. The environment incorporates communal seating and low-level lighting to maintain a standard pub aesthetic throughout the space. Patrons engage with a focused menu that prioritizes flavor and preparation over culinary complexity. This establishment functions as a primary hub for those desiring a straightforward dining experience centered on long-standing Irish recipes and cold beverages. Every component of the culinary output maintains the expected profile of a dedicated pub focused on traditional regional staples.

Review Summary

Hurley's Irish Pub is widely considered a staple of downtown Montreal, celebrated for its authentic atmosphere, live traditional music, and extensive selection of beer and spirits. Visitors frequently highlight the cozy, rustic interior and the vibrant, diverse energy that makes it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. While the service is often praised as friendly and professional, some experiences vary during peak hours when the venue becomes particularly crowded. The food receives mixed feedback; while many patrons enjoy the fish and chips and pub staples, others find the menu limited or inconsistent in value. Despite occasional concerns regarding pricing or wait times during busy shifts, the venue remains a beloved institution, favored for its welcoming staff, unique seating areas, and consistent ability to provide a memorable social experience.

Belle place
Bonne ambiance
The food is very bad. I tried four different meals, all amongst the worst that could be food in Montreal. They should replace the chef...

Music everyday. What more could you want? It's a bit pricey but for a downtown bar it's nothing crazy. For a $10 (cost for a beer) concert any night of the week I'd say that's pretty good

Was in Ireland for a month. Had a Guiness almost everyday. Came back to Montreal & after a week I couldn't stop thinking about one. Decided to go to Hurley's & I'm so happy that I did. The pint was just like I had in Ireland & the stew was amazing. Thanks guys. 👍🏻

Hurley's brazenly have two menus, a table menu & cashier menu. Or, at least on St.Patrick's Day weekend. The cashier menu shows higher prices. This was confirmed when I checked Hurley's online menu for ( iceberg lettuce) Caesar Salad, listing it as $15+ tax, no add-ons . I paid $18 plus tax, this March. At the table menu , it was listed as about $12. That's legal? Nope. The prices surely didn't go down. At the time, no camera phone was available to take a picture, but I definitely paid higher than what should have been paid. Don't go there. Nevertheless, if you do, take photos of the table menu, to compare with your final bill, for your own security.
