A place worth stopping by. Everything was great, starting from a complimentary cream soup & ending with fantastic katsu plates. Also the service was perfect. Strongly recommend!

We went on a Saturday dinner. & apparently they are very busy because there is no reservation system & there are only 8 tables for 2 people (they combined some for those who have more than 2). The waitresses are very kind & enthusiastic but we were told we have to wait for about 25 mins for someone to finish. Wasn't very long time. The food in general is great but some notes can be modified: the miso soup is a bit too salty (maybe due to they comes in a cup) & the Roku is a bit too hard but it is within tolerance. The problem is the wait time. From the time we sat down & the food arrive (not including the great tasting cream soup they gave us) is about 1 hr. Imean it ain't that bad but it could be improved in the future.

Our experience this time fell a little short of what we had read in the reviews, though we hope it was just an off day. The service was genuinely friendly & hospitable, & the portions were generous - the complimentary cream of mushroom soup was also a nice touch. We ordered the Teppan Hamburger Steak & the Katsu Curry Udon, but both dishes came out too heavily seasoned for our taste. The miso soup on the side was similarly over-seasoned, with the anchovy notes from the dashi stock overpowering the other components. My partner also got a stomachache after the katsu curry udon, which may have been a one-off, but it added to an overall mediocre experience unfortunately. We've had better katsu & Japanese steak elsewhere.

We got the Curry Pork Fillet & Pork Fillet Tonkatsu. It was delicious, the pork was tender & juicy, they also gave a creamy soup as an entrée that was very good. The staff was also helpful & nice.
Will definitely come again.

Good enough.
Hoshi is a good enough Katsu for a reasonable price. Served with good rice & generous cabbage. Came with a soup too. I enjoyed it. I'll go again.

The facade is a little busted up. Don't let that scare you from coming in!

Rosu katsu - Pork was tender & juicy. A bit bland. There was Not as much fat as I expected in this cut.
Many places that serve katsu, serve cabbage salad with a sesame dressing. They have a more yozu type. It was fine
Best part of meal is the free tasty creamy mushroom soup!
Service was great. Very friendly & helpful.

A small Japanese restaurant tucked away in Montréal's Chinatown. They're known for dishes like tonkatsu, beef hamburg steak, & sashimi rice bowls. I had the tonkatsu set meal-the soup was creamy with a strong peppery note, & the cutlet was crispy while still juicy inside. Portions were satisfying & the sauces were a nice touch.

Seating is limited, so it's worth arriving early for dinner.

Overall very disappointing.

Not particularly good or bad service. Wait time outside at the door, would think a reservation list or system would be better as there's no covering outside. Hope to see them implement something like that in the future.

We both ordered two different types of katsu & both were dry & tough. Completely overcooked. Flavor was a bland, granted you are given seasonings like salt, sauce etc... but katsu itself has no flavor.

Both our plates & sauce cup had chips in it.

Soup they served seemed to be the instant cream vegetable one from Korean grocery store.

Overall, it's not very good. I've had much better katsu at food court. They should switch to donkatsu. Less easy to mess up & you can tenderize the meat.
