Hoogan & Beaufort left us feeling hungry. Located in a sleek, airy industrial space, the restaurant offers highly professional service, an impressive wine list & artfully executed dishes. Unfortunately, the portions were conspicuously ungenerous - at one point the appetizer consisted of literally a single small piece of joue de veau. Our table of six birthday celebrants left unsatisfied & frustrated after a bill of roughly $175 per person, including taxes, wine & tip. A few guests even felt the need to eat afterwards. We did appreciate the desserts, & a waiter kindly brought extra bread after sensing our portion shock. Despite these touches, the group still left disappointed.
We had been talking about trying Hoogan & Beaufort for years, so we decided to finally book it for a birthday & make a real occasion out of it. Honestly, it was worth the wait.
We went with the tasting menu because we wanted the full experience, & it was the right choice. Every plate surprised us in a good way. The flavors were creative but still comforting, & each course felt carefully thought out. It is one of those meals where you slow down & really enjoy every bite.
The service made the night even more special. Everyone was warm & genuinely friendly. The sommelier, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember, clearly knows his craft & gave us very personalized wine recommendations that elevated the whole meal.
What really touched us was the birthday surprise at the end. We had mentioned it when booking but did not remind them when we arrived, yet they still brought out an extra dessert. It felt thoughtful & elegant without being over the top.
I would absolutely recommend it, especially for a special occasion.

Excellente expérience chez Hoogan & Beaufort. Le service est tout simplement exceptionnel : attentionné, professionnel & chaleureux du début à la fin. Les plats sont très bons & magnifiquement présentés - de super belles assiettes qui ouvrent l'appétit dès qu'elles arrivent à table.
Gros coup de coeur pour les huîtres chaudes aux pommes, absolument délicieuses & parfaitement équilibrées.
Petit bémol du côté des desserts : ils sont assez chers &, pour moi, un peu décevants, même si la qualité des produits & l'exécution sont indéniables.
Une très belle adresse que je recommande sans hésiter pour l'expérience globale.
Quite empty on a Tuesday night - would have preferred to have been reseated to an empty regular table not a high top. Tasting menu was okay but not great - first course a waste. Bread & steak courses amazing. Agnolotti & dessert very average

Très bel endroit moderne pour une soirée ! Nous y sommes allées pour le temps des Fêtes, le resto était bondé & nous avons choisi le menu, dégustation, un végé & l'autre viande & poisson. On dit qu'on mange d'abord avec les yeux & ça, le chef l'a bien compris ! puis les papilles gustatives se préparent à goûter les saveurs harmonieuses & délicates ! Vraiment, nous nous sommes régalées ! La carte des vins est exceptionnelle, les vins sont vendus au verre pour nous permettre un accord parfait de l'entrée au dessert ! Merciiiiiii !
Belle expérience - serveur attentif. Menu qui change 3-4 fois par année avec des plats innovants & qui donnent envie d'essayer des choses nouvelles. Seul leur menu de dessert m'inspirait moins & leur cappuccino decaf n'était pas à la hauteur. 2e fois ici, & toujours aussi satisfaite. Le prix est dans le versant élevé
A very confusing dining experience! The wine was fabulous! The dessert was exceptional!!!! The apps/main food was... Uninspired. Boring. Not special. Not worth the price....... We ordered the tasting menu & were not impressed. The 4/5 courses were vegetarian (come on...), they were also pretty bland, & the steak/rib was simply "ok". For the price... Unacceptable. When ordering a tasting menu at this price I expect each dish to have something memorable... I didn't find that here (except for the apple, hops, olive oil dessert which was 10/10). Won't be coming back.
Ribs steaks tastes ok on average, come with spaghetti & salads as side dishes. Enough for share:) As well warm oyster just amazing. Our server Louis is patience & supportive. But overall not feel very welcoming at very beginning at the restaurant. Overall whole experience was not that great. Don't feel welcoming & the way hostess talk was makes me uncomfortable. As well first time we received our ribs comes cold, but server Louis was helpful & we got another new steak, appreciate that:) -no problem with Louis, appreciate with the efforts however at beginning steak comes with some tomatoes & grilled veggies such as horicots, was totally disappeared after we got our new steak. & we ask two times to get grilled veggies back. If your dishes comes with that you should gave us as it supposed to be like.(I kept spaghetti & salad so I didn't mean those two side dishes only for the vegetable & tomatoes) My appointment was made at 5:30, I arrived on time even earlier. As e-mail said I had table for 2h30mins, if I understand right I can have my table until 8pm. I ask for the bill to be printed at 7:20 I did checked time:) & I got some personal issue with bank so I stay 15mins longer wait issue fix, at 7:36 hostess lady was suddenly come ask us rudely to pay the bill & we have to leave because she got customer coming at 8. I explain to her I got issue now will need to stay a bit to wait, she push us to have a time to pay bill. I just want to say even though I didn't had wine or dessert I still bring your guys revenue, I am still your customer tonight until I leave. Better to train your employe how to communicate more respectful. As long as I don't want leave within 2h30mins, it's not friendly to push people leave & pay bill. Make me feel that I will escape. I came with your reputation & want trust your team professional cooking skills. As well operation as a team, sadly I was disappointed with today whole experience. Won't be back anymore, first time is last time:) If you finish read my note I appreciate your patience, thank you

Nous sommes venus fêter notre anniversaire & nous n'avons pas été déçus ! Un service impeccable par Maxime qui nous a donné de beaux conseils sur les vins. Au niveau de la cuisine, rien à redire tout était juste. Mention spéciale pour les desserts parfaitement pensés & exécutés par Laetitia ! Merci, nous reviendrons
Our meal here was absolutely incredible!! We opted for the a la carte menu & were not disappointed. Each meal was expertly prepared & beautifully plated. We started with the warm oysters with sabayon, the burrata with peach, fennel & mustard seed & the tuna tarts. They were all insanely delicious! We followed that with the duck. The plum sauce was decadent & flavorful & the duck was divine. We ended our meal with the peach & peanut desserts, which were so damn good. & as if the experience couldn't get any better the service was impeccable. David was kind attentive & willingly swapped out ingredients if we had dietary restrictions. My aunt couldn't eat dairy so he swapped out the ice cream in the peanut dessert with sorbet. Hoogan & Beaufort is an definite recommend.
À date je ne connais pas d'autre restaurant sur Montréal qui propose un tel côte de boeuf. On parle ici de 28oz environ 800g. C'est un régale à partager avec un ou plusieurs amis. Les accompagnements sont aussi très bons. Vous avez aussi un choix d'entrées & de desserts excellent. La carte des vins ou devrais-je dire le classeur propose une très belle sélection. Avec cela viennent une superbe ambiance & un service exceptionnel.
Très belle expérience pour le souper à Hoogan & Beaufort. Nous y sommes allés 2 fois en 5 jours: une première fois nous avons essayé le menu dégustation & la deuxième nous avons commandé à la carte. Lors de nos deux visites, la qualité des plats servis était excellente. Lors du menu dégustation, tout les plats étaient de bon niveau & s'enchaînaient assez rapidement. Nous avons été satisfaits, mais nous aurions aimé un service de plus, c'est passé très vite. Nous avons préféré notre deuxième visite, où nous avons commandé à la carte. Gros coups de coeur pour les huîtres cuitent, la côte de porc & le dessert au bleuets. Ce dernier était vraiment excellent, une merveille d'équilibre ! Très bon service souriant & efficace lors de nos deux visites. A refaire certainement !

Le menu dégustation est très bon dans l'ensemble, particulièrement les viandes & le dessert. Pour mes plats, l'emphase était sur la maîtrise plutôt que l'originalité. Le choix des vins était à la fois judicieux & original. Présentation des plats soignés. Service rapide & accueillant.
Nous avons choisi le menu découverte & c'était succulent. Nous avons adoré l'ambiance du restaurant & le service était impeccable. Nous avons eu un coup de coeur pour le dessert aux pacanes, argousiers, carottes & cardamome.
Le repas était excellent, le vin était très bien (un vin de table de Vérone de niveau supérieur). Le service était au-dessus de tout, de l'accueil jusqu'au dessert. L'ambiance, on peut aimer, personnellement c'est peut-être trop ouvert, trop brasserie & particulièrement le mobilier, très ordinaire, donc mon principal moins. Pour le reste, si on aime bien manger, on apprécie être bien servi, ça vaut le détour & son prix.

Très décevant comme expérience pour la première fois, vraiment de petites portions, on ne trouvait pas la pieuvre dans l'assiette, ris de veau ridiculement petits, entrée de PATATES..PATATES RÉCHAUFFÉES en plus ..porcelet vraiment pas bon à 26$, Short Ribs très ordinaire & tout ça avec full de gras...Nous avions aussi faim après le repas qu'au début....Tellement que nous sommes allés prendre le dessert dans un autre resto. & le soir même au retour à la maison, j'ai du manger encore avant d'aller au dodo. Les serveurs ne nous ont jamais demandé si tout était correct, j'étais avec des amis dont l'anniversaire d'un ami. J'étais vraiment gêné de donner mes commentaires...dommage car il y a une assez bonne ambiance! voilà ....
