THE BEST Vietnamese restaurants in Montreal.
I've been going there for over 30 years, & the quality has remained consistently excellent. It's a very simple, no-frills place, but the food speaks for itself.
Important tip: Go for their Mì Hoài H??ng, Bánh Xèo or explore the lesser known Vietnamese dishes in their menu. Their crispy noodle (Mì Xào Giòn) is especially outstanding.
What really sets this place apart is the variety. They offer a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes that you won't easily find elsewhere in Montreal, which makes it a great spot if you want to try something different beyond the usual options.
Service is also great-same staff for years, always welcoming, friendly, & smiling.
Overall, a true hidden gem & a must-try for anyone who loves REAL Vietnamese food.
I had the #25 Th?t N??ng, Ch? Giò, Bánh H?i & it was delicious! For the price paid, the portion was more than generous, the waiter was really nice, & the service was super fast (probably waited 10 minutes max). I would definitely come back here to try other dishes.
We both enjoyed our dishes, excellent meals; quiet & relaxing dinner on a late Friday afternoon at 16.30.
We have been coming to Hoai Huong for about 15 years & today was family time to celebrate my Grandma, it was the best dinner yet, highly recommend combo F apart from other great dishes.
Many authentic Vietnamese specialties were served here, featuring dishes that aren't typically served by others. The food was delicious, the Bánh Xèo was a highlight. The Bánh ??p Th?t N??ng was a very substantial dish. The waitstaff was proficient & helpful. However, the seating was very confined.
Restaurant Hoai Huong is a Côte-des-Neiges staple for Vietnamese comfort food. The menu is loaded with classic dishes, & the space has a lively, buzzing energy that makes eating here feel fun & communal. Service is fast & efficient, even when the place is packed. I had the #17 pork with vermicelli- tender, flavorful, & perfectly balanced with herbs & crunch. My partner's #5 chicken pho was fragrant & soothing, with a broth that tasted lovingly made. We also shared a mango salad that was fresh, bright, & the perfect starter. Great food, great atmosphere, & a spot we'll definitely be coming back to.
Hoai Huong is me, my family & my friends' favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Montreal. Talking about authenticity, personally, I do love the food & would say that it's 85% authentic to what you can get when travelling to Vietnam, which is really high cause we're talking about Northeastern-America ingredients. I strongly recommend Salade vietnamienne (porc & crevettes) for appetizer & no-soup plates like the ones I've included, or even other rice dishes. We've come here many many times, the quality remains the same over years, the owner is kind & friendly (he speaks lotsss languages too, impressive!).
This is absolutely my favourite restaurant in the city! The food is fantastic & the staff is warm & friendly! They remember my ordered every time I go & it always makes me smile! I can not get enough of this place... Their dishes are amazing & you will NEVER eat a better imperial roll! HIGHLY recommend! 👍👍
Food is good but not wow. BBH was not spicy. Portions are okay, not very big. Staff is kind but service was a bit slow. Would love to try other dishes in the menu
We both ordered Combo F We really enjoyed the veggie soup starter. So fresh, light & tasty. The beef & shrimp were incredibly tasty & cooked to perfection. The imperial roll was a treat! The service was amazing. We felt warmly welcomed & cared for by at least 5 different staff. Parking wasn't a problem found a spot right in front on the street. There is a terrace out front if you wanted to eat al fresco (it was raining when we went ). The inside is tastefully decorated. Our critique is the chicken brochette. It lacked flavour, was tough & we thought it was pork to be honest. We would come back again, just wouldn't order chicken dishes. The restroom area could use a face lift:)
I'm Back in town again. A must first dinner stop for over 40 years. Toan & An are still the best owners. Every dishes are delicious
The place is busy..... for good reason. The food is excellent. we went on a cold night with the idea of warming ourselves up with Pho. but the menu was so authentic Vietnamese with other dishes that are to find in Montreal that we tried a few other things. Everything was absolutely delicious & quite authentic, including the side of Birds Eye Hot chilis. Friendly but not over-friendly & efficient service I'm coming back as sooon as possible to try things like Banh CaXeo & Fish braised in a claypot. Even parking was easy in the evening. BRAVO !
Best imperial rolls with all the "umami" your heart could desire! Service was inconsistent...we were a group of 10 with reservations at 6pm. The three people who ordered the (meager choice of two) vegetarian dishes, were served 30 minutes after everyone else (& only because we inquired a second time about the missing dishes).
