Review Summary

Ho Guom is widely regarded as a standout destination for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, featuring fresh, flavorful dishes, generous portions, and a clean, modern atmosphere. Many diners praise the quality of the broth in dishes like Pho and Bun Bo Hue, as well as the variety of traditional offerings, with the BYOW policy and convenient parking adding to the positive experience. While the majority of reviews highlight efficient, friendly, and sometimes exceptional service, a portion of customers noted inconsistencies, describing occasional experiences with inattentive staff or issues regarding perceived bias and cold food. Despite these mixed reports on service consistency, the overall consensus remains highly favorable, with many patrons expressing enthusiasm to return for the restaurant's value and satisfying culinary options.

Wonderful place with delicious north Vietnamese fare. Many other pho places won't have anywhere near the variety of dishes that aren't just different kinds of soups & noodles. The Bun Cha were delicious, there are more I'd like to try next time I come back.

Our first experience at this restaurant was wonderful. The food was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully prepared. The husband-&-wife owners were incredibly warm & kind, making us feel comfortable right away. Even during a busy time, the service remained attentive & welcoming.

We ordered quite a few dishes to try different items on the menu, & every plate was enjoyable. The coffee was also excellent & a perfect finish to the meal. We had a lovely time & would happily recommend this place to others.

I have been to this resto several times & I enjoy the food, the reception & especially the services. They have a special on Wednesday, even though it's super busy, the waiter & waitress (especially Huong) are always pleasant to fill our requests. I strongly recommend Hô`Guom for their authentic Vietnamese dishes.

Such a good find on the South Shore! These two dishes are not commonly on the menu in Vietnamese restaurants: Bún ch? Hà N?i & Bún ?c.

Bún ch? Hà N?i (forgot to take a photo) was an insane discovery for me: smoky, freshly grilled pork, served with rice vermicelli & a big plate of herbs. You dip everything into a sweet & savory fish-sauce broth, & every bite tastes light, fragrant, & super satisfying.

Bún ?c was equally memorable in a totally different way: a comforting bowl of rice noodles in a tangy, tomato-based broth with snails. It's bright, slightly sour, & refreshing rather than heavy, especially with the herbs & garnishes mixed in.

If you're craving something beyond the usual ph? & bánh mì, this is definitely worth trying.

Brought home takeout on New Years Eve & we really enjoyed the meal. I had never had Vietnamese food before so I went to the restaurant to order our meal. I told the nice man at the counter that I was not sure what to get. Told him what we like & didn't like & he was very helpful. For our group of 4 adults & 2 young children he suggested 4 of their combo dishes all different so we could sample everything. I can't tell you if it was authentic Vietnamese food or not as it was our first time but I can say we all enjoyed it. Shrimp, chicken, beef & General Tau dishes were very good. Even had a little left over. The place look nicely decorated & while I waited, it looked like a nice place to have a relaxing meal. My wife & I will come back.

The experience was somewhat underwhelming. We ordered a rice plate & a bowl of squid soup, but both dishes were unfortunately quite bland. Compared to their Jean Talon location, the flavors just didn't measure up-perhaps due to the absence of the owner (?), who is often present there & known for maintaining quality. I agree with others guests that this could be pricey : the protein portion sizes also felt small for the price, which makes the overall value hard to justify. Honestly, I would have rated this 1 star based on the food alone, but I don't want to hurt a small business. That said, I do feel it's important to be honest so others know what to expect.
