On y retourne ?
I loved food, the atmosphere & service was mediocre only because two of the staff members behind the bar were arguing & it made the experience unpleasant & awkward. I would definitely go back for the food even though it was a bit pricey it was worth it. The fattoush salad was bomb!View more
View more
I made reservations here for my friend's birthday yesterday. There was a group of 11 of us. I loved the ambiance & decor of the restaurant. I ordered the lamb shawarma & hummus for myself & I got to try the shish taouk, Jerusalem artichokes, fattoush salad, shish barak, & the short ribs. My lamb shawarma & hummus was perfectly spiced & tender, while the hummus was creamy & velvety which paired great with fresh pita. I was also surprised by the Jerusalem artichokes, they were fried, I never thought artichokes could taste so good. The seasoning used for this was absolutely impeccable. The fattoush salad was also great & tasted fresh. The chicken shish taouk was juicy with a delightful char, the side potatoes that came with this was also amazingly delicious with the spices they used. The beef dumplings were mediocre tasting, I didn't find them to be a stand out. & the short ribs mixed with a creamy sauce was also an odd pairing of flavor. I found the service good as they were attentive & quick to serve us. I did bring a birthday cake in which they charged $5/pp cutting fee. There were these large chocolate pieces that were used to decorate the cake, in which I realized the server never asked if we wanted to eat them. I wish they would have considered this because it was part of the cake & a waste of money to be just thrown out as some of the guests would have liked it. Overall, I thought the majority of the food was well prepared & flavourful. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant, however it felt the space was a bit tight. & lastly, the service was good.View more
We had a small but exceptional meal here. Hummus to die for, lamb & aubergine, & fattoush salad. All delicious. Service great. Decor fine. It's small & there were a bunch of large groups (best way to go if you can, so you can try lots)-so a bit noisy, but fine. Wish we lived closer! 5 stars!View more
View more
Excellente cuisine d'inspiration libanaise/syrienne. View more
Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the fattoush salad, fried kibbeh, fried cheese boreg, the fries & the hummus & shawarma(my favourite). Their pistachio ice cream was amazing! Would definitely go back for it again. The seating area outside was very nice & the service was okay (4/5). They did however offer a complimentary dessert for my friend's birthday! & it was halalView more
The food was fantastic. Definitely recommend the labneh toast & fattoush salad. The servers were so friendly & they were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions & allergies. It's very pretty & clean on the inside & outside. One of the best Lebanese places we've dined at.View more
View more
5* Delicious food, quick & friendly service, lovely terrace & good ambiance. We came for lunch & were very pleased by the quantity & quality of the food. We ordered the «Baba Ganouj», «Fattoush Salad», «Soudjouk & Eggs», «Shish Taouk Wrap» & the «Shawarma & Hummus» - all dishes were super tasty & flavour. We would definitely come back!View more
Fattoush salad served with two teaspoons? Shareable not served with small plates. Portions were too small, food was dry (the meat). Server took away plate before we even finished it. Water glasses were always filled half way. But the drinks were nice & refreshing.View more
The wraps were so bad, chicken was having a bad smell..fortunately we didnt get sick after. But I dont recommand this place for foodView more
Very good service, great drink. The food was good, but the salad a bit too soggy. + The girl next to me was pretty cuteView more
Outstanding service & delicious food! I truly was impressed by the attention to detail we experienced at Hayat. The staff were very friendly & informative & we especially liked the fattoush salad & baklava pancakes 😋View more
I know you're a new business but the prices felt high for what was served, & some of the portion sizes/distributions were a little confusing (ex: not much falafel in the falafel salad, but a TON of cauliflower in the cauliflower salad). Additionally, I do have to let you know that I almost did not make the reservation because of your strident cancellation policy. Though I knew I would not cancel (we made the reservation a few hours ahead), it feels important to point out that we are still in the era of Covid, where people could get sick the day of their reservation & be reluctant to cancel--putting others at risk--due to a $50 per person cancellation fee. I understand a strident no-show fee, but requiring a full two days cancellation with such a high tariff for cancelling was incredibly off-putting. For me, this means I would only make a reservation at Hayat day-of, & if I were planning an event that required advance preparation (a large group, a special event) I would not be willing to book with you. I hope that you will reconsider this draconian policy as you work out the kinks of being a new business. I know it harms businesses when people cancel last-minute, but a policy this strident will prevent the reservation in the first place, which presumably hurts more.
We just stumbled on this place on a recent trip to Montreal. We started with two appetizers & a special that were outstanding. We were a bit let down with the main courses, however. There beat salad special was the best I have ever had. Very vegetarian friendly. The drinks were phenomenal as well. Rue (most likely misspelled), our server was very attentive & professional. The service all around was excellent.View more
Nice place, but should put a double door, because everytime the door gets opened, it's freezing & uncomfortable. Also the food is overpriced. Too expensive for the small quantities. Some of the dishes were excellent like the Armenian sausages or the tomato feta salad, but others were « passable ». Like the cheese borek (still doubting its phyllo paste. The cheese was pretty basic (minimal amount of Akawi & maximal of mozzarella). The shish taouk was way too expensive for 2 mini brochettes, no fries nothing. I think for the price of the menu, you should significantly increase the portions, the sides & improve the taste. Thank you
