On y retourne ?
View more
Amazing Syrian food. A must try! Gabbi the head chef was passionate, gracious & kind as was the bartender Otis. Had the Muhamara, Short Rib, Chicken Shish Taouk & the Rice pudding dessert.... All delicious!View more
View more

View more
The restaurant inside is not big at all but cute & cozy. Our waiter i believe his name was Dean was super fantastic! The food was also amazing! i didn't take pics of everything because we dove right into it. I'm very picky with food & with this food being my traditional food i was even more skeptic so as we all say our mom makes it better lol. However to my surprise everything was amazing! Fatoosh was so so good & Shish Tawook also so tender & melts in your mouth! We were too full & couldn't order dessert but i really really wanted to try the famous Baklava Pancakes so we ended up going the next day just to have that. DONT miss it....it's amazing!!!! Save room for dessert. The wine was also Great as well as the Butterfly cocktail I believe it's called. Next time we are in Montreal I will definitely be coming back!View more
Hayat in Montreal, overlooking the old port waterfront, offers a beautiful dining experience with both outdoor & indoor seating. The fusion of food was so delicious that I could only take two photos before it was all gobbled up. The staff were attentive, & Nathaniel's exceptional service truly stood out. He carefully listened to our preferences & recommended dishes that perfectly suited our tastes. The food quality was outstanding, with generous portions, & the dessert is an absolute must-try! Highly recommended!View more
I don't usually go to Middle Eastern restaurants (to avoid getting disappointed as a Middle Eastern person). We we were heading to a different restaurant which did not accommodate us so we ended trying to Hayat & they were very welcoming & accommodated us despite being very busy. It probably was one of the best (if not the best) Middle Eastern/Syrian food we had in North America. Everything we ate was great including the eggplant kebab, shish tawook, soujouk, fattoush, shrimp, ice cream, desserts, & others. The portions are good in size. This was not your usual Middle Eastern restaurant. The food presentation was great, & the chef's amazing culinary skills & touch were very clear. The service was great & food arrived quickly, despite being busy. Highly recommended.View more
Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the fattoush salad, fried kibbeh, fried cheese boreg, the fries & the hummus & shawarma(my favourite). Their pistachio ice cream was amazing! Would definitely go back for it again. The seating area outside was very nice & the service was okay (4/5). They did however offer a complimentary dessert for my friend's birthday! & it was halalView more
Food was phenomenal & service was out of this world! Every single dish was flavorful & plentiful. All of the staff were friendly & extremely attentive. They deserve a 10! Just wish we had room for dessert!View more
My husband & I dropped in for a late dinner, & we're so glad we did. Everything-from the atmosphere to the service, food, & drinks-was simply perfect. Nathaniel was our server, & he ensured we had an exceptional experience. He strongly recommended we save room for the baklava pancakes for dessert, & we're thrilled we took his advice. It's easily one of the best desserts we've ever had. This was our final dinner during our weekend in Montreal, & it was probably one of the best meals we had here (which says a lot, considering how much incredible food we've had). We'll definitely be returning on our next visit!View more
We came as a group of eight & ordered several dishes, including desserts. We were all very impressed at how delicious they were! The ambiance was lovely, & the service was great. Even the bathroom had a nice hand gel from Aesop, which was such a nice touch!View more
View more
We visited this restaurant after roaming the entire street & we were famished. We walked -in because we wanted to have nice brunch with some protein. We don't wat meat so eggs is the only source of protein which was easily available & we saw shakshuka on the menu so we went in. I knew it was a $$$ restaurant but didn't know they would serve shashuka with just 1 egg for 28 CAD. Shashuka was really delicious but I didn't expect it to come with just 1 egg in it & 1 thin bread toast. We asked them for extra toast, the server was nice enough to mention that the extra toast would take some time & they would also charge us for it. We didn't mind doing that but we just skipped it. The muhmara dip was delicious & it came with free pita so we just ate that with the shashuka. We ordered 2 drinks out of which the rose garden drink was really nice but again they were super pricy. We had their Syrian pudding which was yummilicious. It had perfect amount of sweetness & was garnished really well. Ambience is also really nice. Service was a little slow even though the restaurant wasn't that full. I think the staff is pretty new coz they forgot to serve us water & silverware & when reminded for water the server said he would send someone & forgot again coz he wasn't the server assigned for our table🙄 Usually I re-visit restaurants which serve delicious food but I would not visit this place again coz I felt it was ridiculously expensive. We spent $$$ for just 1 dip, 1 main course, 1 dessert & 2 drinks & the quantity also wasn't enough for the main course. I hope they read this review & work on their costing.View more
This restaurant was the absolute best experience I have ever had. All thanks to the AMAZING Khaled who genuinely made me & the girls' night!! Such a caring sweetheart who even brought us a round of shots plus dessert!View more
Juste Wow! View more
I never do Google reviews but wasn't a fan at all of the lamb tacos & shrimp dish. Couldn't not have more than 2 bites. Food was nearly inedible. Odd fishy taste for the shrimp & the driest taco I've ever had. Otherwise, dessert was good & so was the beef tartare & dumplings. Surprised due to the high ratingView more
View more
Great restaurant, great food & great staff.
The pancake dessert was amazing!
Would definitely go there again
For a new high end restaurant I expected more. Although the food was very flavourful - it was extremely overpriced. 24$ for two small burek cheese rolls? Charging 3$ extra for bread? No tea or have with dessert? Also being a new restaurant that doesn't have many tables- maybe having a manager, owner or chef come by the tables & checkin or ask for feedback or offer a round of drinks or dessert would have been a nice touch. It's too bad because the flavour is there & the place has potential.
