Can't stress enough how great this place is. It's cozy & has a homey feel to it, the staff is friendly & they make good food. I'd recommend The Jalapeno Hamachi sashimi to anyone, it's not spicy & so good. Also the Supper for 2 Deal is a good quantity of food for 80$, could probably satisfy three people even. There was mackerel, tempura & chicken, with ice cream included.

It's very cozy & very Japan . We enjoy the Saturday night a lot . My husband normally doesn't eat much sashimi & sushi but he likes it a lot here .
This was the best sushi I have ever had in Montreal! The sashimi in particular was very fresh & my favorite item on the menu. I will definitely be back!!
Amazing sushi place! I really like the platter which they call it Sashimi Mix, it is beautiful & colorful. I have to tell you that it is the best presentation I have ever seen. The chef's choices are really fresh & tasty. I strongly recommend the Salmon Belly Sashimi & Sea Urchin Sushi which are my favorite!!always great?
I think this is the worst sushi restaurant, worse than the cheap sushi buffet restaurant! Food is not fresh, the taste is terrible, the grilled chicken is raw, & the beef sushi (actually tuna) is really special, Anyway, the sashimi is not fresh, while the cooked food is as fresh as if it was just taken out of the refrigerator.
After nine years, it is still our favorite place to go when we want sushi & sashimi. Always fresh & delicious! Lovely place!
Absolutely loved our experience at Gyoka Izakaya Sushi Bar! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, & every dish was bursting with flavor. From the sashimi to the rolls, everything was beautifully presented & tasted amazing. Don't miss the black sesame ice cream - it's rich, creamy, & the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend!

Très bonne cuisine! Petit resto mignon & propre avec un service rapide & très sympathique. Les Sashimi étaient très frais & le poisson de super qualité. À seulement 20 minutes en auto de Montréal & de quoi se parker facilement.

I think this restaurant is overrated. I ordered a combo menu for two for 80$. I am a medium size asian woman & the portion was too small. The variety of the food is soso for the price paid. Nice deco & fresh sashimi, but not worth the price
J'ai souper ce soir avec ma famille pour la Fête des Mère & je dois avouer que tout était parfait. Le service était rapide, l'atmosphère est impeccable & la nourriture est hors de ce monde. Tous les membres de ma famille ont adoré & il est certain que nous allons revenir pour la Fête des Père. Je vous recommande la plateau de Sashimi, ils sont frais & absolument délicieux.

After a long search & almost giving up, I finally discovered a great sushi restaurant in the Montreal region that offers a great variety of Sashimi. All of the sashimi were fresh & full of flavour. Next time I'll try more of the sushi rolls as well. It was relatively affordable compared to what you can find on the Island.
Really excellent sushi! There's a wide variety of interesting dishes, but we ended up taking the "assorted sushi & sashimi for one." You don't really know what you're going to get, which was fine for us because it was all simply delicious!
The Sapporo came with 2 frozen mugs when we ordered a can for 2. The server was very friendly & attentive. Service was pretty quick despite being a busy Saturday night.
We will definitely be back!
