Located in UQAM’s School of Management Services pavilion, Ginkgo is a unique concept. We give you an unprecedented resto/bar and a reflective gastronomy. We will satisfy student’s needs of course, but also the needs of academic staff and business customers of the sector. Looking forward to welcoming you there.
Overall, Ginkgo Café Bar comes across as a stylish and cozy brunch spot that many reviews find convenient for after class or work. The vibe and decor are commonly praised, and service is described as friendly and fast on some visits, though slower or less attentive during busy periods. The menu earns praise for flavorful brunch dishes, generous portions, and standout items like halloumi salad, but several meals are called bland, lukewarm, or lacking flavor, and some reviews note changes to the menu and pricing. Beverages are a highlight for many, with solid coffee, a popular bottomless mimosa, and good cocktails at happy hour, though a few guests feel inclusions or pricing could be clearer. Experience can vary by visit, with occasional concerns about value for money, small issues such as hair in food or cleanliness, and noise levels depending on the time of day. Taken together, it remains a go-to spot for brunch and casual drinks with a mix of positive remarks about staff and atmosphere interspersed with criticisms of price or consistency.
Service was terrible, waited 10 minutes for someone to seat us (we had a reservation) while multiple people just walked by us. 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us , we had to ask 3 times for us to order.
Overall we could of been in & out within an hour but we were there over 2 hours because of the service.
Also forgot some of the drinks we ordered, if the server would of came to check our food she would of noticed or we would of asked for it.
3 stars because the food was alright. Other than that 👎
Food was great but unfortunately the service was lacking. We ordered two drinks & two meals, & both one meal & a drink were incorrect, one of our drinks was also full dairy which we didn't want or know of until we saw the bill

The atmosphere is cozy & the people are very nice. As I am leaving Canada tonight, that should be my last bagel in Montreal. In all the food is above average. Btw, The opening time seems to be wrong with the note in google map.
As someone that knows that on weekends (starting Friday), restaurants can get a little hectic, we've decided to book a reservation for 13:00 so we won't get rushed nor have the feeling of being pressured to eat quickly.
As confirmed, at 13:00 there wasn't many people, in fact it was very much empty except for a couple of students that came in to study & eat.
We waited for about 20 minutes until a waitress that hasn't even presented herself ask us if we were ready to order. We ordered & waited for about 45 minutes to finally get our plate. At random times other waiters would come up to our table with plates that weren't meant for us.
Regarding the food, i had ordered the Cheeseburger Bacon, it was nice, filling & it was a nice portion. Sadly my friend had ordered the avocado toast & received a not so nice portion with a limited amount of fruits & the poches egg wasn't up to standards.
After finishing we waited for another 15 minutes to receive the check, because we notice that our waitress is sitting on her phone & chatting with her colleagues & for that we had to go up to the bar to ask if we could have the check & the waitress at the bar in a conceited tone tells us its with our designed waitress.
Would love to give them the benefit of the doubt & see it as the fact that they we're understaffed but when the service isn't great it just makes the overall experience unpleasant.
This was the first & only place I was able to eat at within my weekend in Montreal because pretty shortly after I ate there, I was sick with food poisoning. Not sure if it was the eggs or OJ that did me in but what an unfortunate experience. FWIW, staff were very friendly.
It's not acceptable at all To get a brunch with reservation like that, worst ever experienced for service. we had reservation 11:30 we made our order at noon & we had our meal at 13:00. Food it was best part. Ambiance was so noisy, not in good way it is not on control
