Made a brunch reservation based on a recent montreal article recommendation. The architecture & decor made it seem like a polished high end resto, but the state of the furniture & bathroom gave it a rundown dive vibe. The food was okay, made with fresh ingredients but everything was lukewarm. The portions are small. The service was acceptable but not professional. Don't think I'd bother going back.
Excellente expérience chez Ginko ! Le décor est élégant, l'ambiance chaleureuse & les plats sont tout simplement délicieux. Mention spéciale à Rachel, notre serveuse, qui a été exceptionnelle du début à la fin. Elle est attentionnée, souriante, & connaît très bien le menu. Grâce à ses suggestions, notre repas a été encore meilleur. Je recommande sans hésitation - & demandez Rachel si vous le pouvez !

The highlight of this place is no doubt the atmosphere. With it's high glass walls allowing in an abundance of daylight & the hanging decorative plants, the ambiance is quite well done here. Bright & peaceful vibe throughout the space. The menu is well-varied. I went for the chicken & waffles as this is a favored dish of mine & not too easy to find in Montreal. As the name suggests, this dish has two components - chicken & waffles. Now the waffle was amazing. It was large, fluffy & tasty. The chicken was good too, but I was disappointed that it was a cutlet. This dish is traditionally served with a piece of fried chicken, not a cutlet. This deviation greatly affected the outcome of the dish, the combination of the crunch of the fried chicken skin with the waffle is key & that was totally missing. At the price point I was surprised they took this shortcut. This is a more niche item on their menu however. As for the service, it was average. I probably would have been better off with another dish but overall still had a good impression of Gingko.
Came here for a spontaneous brunch & we were seated immediately but at a table outside the restaurant area within the building complex (the ambience was very off & while the inside of the restaurant itself is decorated very nicely, the area where we were sat was lacking). The food was good & while the staff was nice, it was impossible to get ahold of them when we needed them.

The servers are super nice, but rarely show up because they are understaffed. Food took one hour to get served. this is the second time I go & it was a similar experience. The decoration looks decadent. I don't really get why people like this place.
Nourriture vraiment excellente, super ambiance & décor! Par contre serveuse très ordinaire, pas de service, erreurs dans les commandes/factures, on ne l'a pas vu du repas, pas d'eau, pas sympathique...

Beau décor (même si les salles de bain auraient besoin d'un peu d'amour), bonne nourriture (rien d'extraordinaire, mais fait en masse la job), prix très raisonnables, personnel gentils, mais clairement débordés (service lent), plusieurs oublis dans nos commandes provenant de la cuisine.
We had a lovely & delicious brunch. With our reservation we didn't have to wait. The food was great & no delayed in service even though was super busy. Our server was very nice & well as the hostess. The ambiance of the restaurant was a plus, very nicely decorated. The only negative is the bathroom, which is in a really rough state.
Pleasantly surprised. I was expecting more students cafe style & it is not at all. Love it. For sure, I will come back. Pretty nice ambiance & decoration. The waitress was always smiling & service was very good. Cocktails are good & food too. Music was a little too loud for chatting, but it was Friday afternoon & that is what people like.
