Visited the iconic Orange Julep-what a perfect way to end our trip before heading back to Toronto! Our hotel had free breakfast, but we had a terrible experience there, so I was really excited to come here. I actually visited with my family back in 2004 with my dad's car club-I was only 4, so memories are fuzzy, but I've always wanted to return.
We tried the hot dog, poutine, & of course the famous orange juice, & everything was absolutely perfect. Truly a nostalgic & delicious experience that already makes me miss Montreal!
Gibeau Orange Julep is an absolute must-visit spot in Montreal! The atmosphere is incredibly unique with that iconic giant orange structure-it feels like stepping back in time. Their signature Orange Julep drink is creamy, refreshing, & unlike anything else I've ever tasted. You also have to try the poutine; the fries are perfectly crispy & the gravy is rich & flavorful. It's the perfect place for classic comfort food & a fun retro vibe. I can't wait to go back!
An iconic Montreal stop!
Gibeau Orange Julep is a must-visit, & it absolutely lives up to its reputation. The orange drink is the star - perfectly sweet, creamy, & incredibly refreshing. It has that classic nostalgic flavour you can't find anywhere else, & it's worth the visit alone.
The poutine was also very satisfying: crispy fries, generous cheese curds, & a rich, flavourful gravy that ties everything together. It's comforting, classic Quebec fast food done right.
Add in the fun atmosphere & the famous giant orange, & you've got a uniquely Montreal experience. Whether you're a local or visiting for the first time, Orange Julep is always a great stop.
At 5. UberEats. Hot dog. Poutine. Shake. Hot dog is huge but stale. Poutine sauce is too thick & fries cold n soggy. Shake had black flakes but will cross fingers its from the seeds
Hot dogs amazing poutine lots of gravy just in no taste from gravy but at least there is enough gravy.. fries could be cooked more
Had julep at Montreal's Orange Julep & it was absolutely brilliant- refreshing, unique, & well worth the stop. The hot dog was surprisingly good as well, properly tasty & satisfying. The only disappointment was the poutine, which was rather below average & lacked the richness & balance you'd expect. Overall, still a fun spot with a couple of real highlights, but the food can be a bit hit-&-miss.
Juice: Sugar water
Poutine: gets the job done
Service: meets expectation
Parking: excellent
For me, hands down the best poutine in Montreal. I also really love their orange juice. It might be a bit too sweet for some people but I LOVE IT. SO GOOD!
I should have known this place wasn't worth the hype the moment I noticed almost everyone inside was a tourist. We seemed to be the only locals…& I can see why. We came because my sister-in-law saw someone on social media claim it was the best poutine in the city. I wish she remembered which influencer, because that recommendation clearly isn't worth trusting.
The food itself? Pure fast-food level. The poutine was strictly mid-tier, & none of the three of us walked away impressed. The only point of debate was the orange juice. My companions found it decent (not amazing, just decent). I thought it tasted like sugar water with a token splash of orange. To be fair, they're the type who drink Pepsi like it's tap water, so heavily sweetened, artificial flavors appeal to them in a way I'll never understand.
If that sounds like your taste, then maybe this place will work for you. But if you're looking for genuinely good poutine or fresh juice, save your time.
It is really good experienced to enjoy fresh squeeze oranges juice. It is worth to enjoy while going montreal . Even my friends tried poutine which was classic poutine ( vegetarian)
This spot stands out for good reason - its visually striking, open late, serves up massive portions with a twist on classic desserts, & has plenty of space to dine on-site along withan expansive parking lot. The poutines & frappé drinks are pricey for the portion sizes, but worth the treat. Service is efficient & the staff work relatively quickly to get your order ready. Worth visiting!
I tried countless poutine. The poutine here is dogshit mid 😭!! Everything else is good but the poutine taste the same as KFC poutine. Their hot dog are amazing tho
