The designer Jacques Gaspo from Foodtastic (behind La Belle & La Boeuf, Souvlaki Bar, Carlos & Pepe’s, Le Blossom, the new Nickels and Bacaro Pizzeria) developed Gatto Matto over a two year period. A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel with a girly touch. The creation of the open kitchen concept never seen before in the Montreal area (in collaboration with Hagop Hagopian, director of operations at Foodtastic and expert in kitchen design) allows you to see the best chefs in the region at work. I had an incredible dining experience at Gatto Matto! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was vibrant & stylish, with a perfect mix of modern & classic Italian charm. The service was outstanding-our server was friendly, knowledgeable, & attentive without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was beautifully presented & packed with flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were rich & well-balanced, & the ingredients tasted fresh & high-quality. The cocktail menu was also impressive, with creative & well-crafted drinks. To top it all off, the desserts were divine! The tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had-light, creamy, & full of flavor. I loved everything about this restaurant! So convenient to the Courtyard by Marriott, at Place Bell. The vibe is funky like a restobar & they have a dj some nights. Highly recommend the grilled octopus, brussel sprouts, prosciutto pizza, pistachio tartufo, & nutella bomboloni. I will be trying to copy the first three, they were amazing!!! Generous wine pour too on our Sangiovese. All smiles leaving Gatto matto.View more

Amazing experience! We had heard so much about this place but never had a chance to go. I can honestly say it's one of the best if not the best restaurant in Laval! We were a group of 6 so we decided to share the octopus, endive salad, the brussel sprouts chefs special & the lamb chops as appatizers! Every single bite was to die for! I had the Filet mignon & it was cooked to perfection & the mash potatoes with the smoked mozzarella was just heavenly! Service was spot on! The waitress was very attentive & took good care of us! Went there for a table of 2 it took a while for the food to arrive & the food was very mid you could get the same tasting pizza at papa's john. I never leave review but i was very disappointing. Also the drinks were too sweet couldn't taste the wine in the sangria. Would recommend going to Sergiolino & Rosso Cielo more or even Labelle & La Boeuf fir their price range & the quality of the foodView more

Here is my review about this place. It's similar to the one in Faubourg Boisbriands, but I would say it's bigger. 1. Decoration 10/10 Very nicely, decorated compared to the other restaurant. It's wide & has a banquet. It has plants' mirrors. 2. Ambiance 10/10 I was surprised how good the ambiance was very good.Music.Very good people.Everybody was having a good time. 3. Service 10/10 The service there was impeccable. I'm not gonna lie. Each of them knew their menu. always suggest something that you would like. 4. Food 10/10 The food was excellent, very tasty with a lot of suggestions if you are a group. So that way, you don't need to pay for everything. If you want, you can divide your friends from meat lobster tails. You have the choice. 5. Cleanest 9/10 The bathroom was very clean. Smelled good. What was only missing some hand paper. The food was tasty & their alcoholic beverage (sangria) was a treat. Our waitress was friendly enough but service could have been more attentive. The restaurant itself is nice with its decor but it is way too dark! I had to bring the menu extremely close to my face to read it. Also, the music was obnoxiously loud as there was a DJ. We could not converse even with the person sitting next to us. We felt like we were in a nightclub. We saw waitresses taking shots with the patrons as well. Not very professional. Held a 40+ person event at Gatto Matto & it was great. Ara, our contact person, was very helpful & accommodating, promptly answering all my questions. The service was great, the food came quickly, & everything was delicious. I appreciated that they were well-equipped with a large team to serve our group. The staff managed everything with ease. The guests loved the restaurants decor. The floral wallpaper made for a great background for pictures. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, everything went so smoothly. Absolutely loved this restaurant! We started off with drinks : the lychee martini, Classico caesar, blood orange mule & the paloma. All were received very well but the paloma was stronger than all the rest. I then got my appetizer, fried calamari & I loved it! Perfect crisp. For our mains we got the rigatoni pasta, 50 layer lasagna, seafood linguini & the margherita pizza. The two girls who got the lasagna said it was just average. The pizza & rigatoni were amazing though. I had gotten the seafood linguini & it was also average to me. I loved the shrimp & calamari in it though. Our waitress was super sweet & the service was good. The inside of the restaurant really makes it what it is. Just beautiful!! We had a concert at Place Bell the same night, & the restaurant was right next to the venue, so it was perfect. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the area.View more

I had my bridal shower at Gatto Matto this past weekend & it was truly everything I asked for & more. Ara went above & beyond for my family & I & ensured that my day was memorable & special! The restaurant was gorgeous, the food was great, & the staff was outstanding. I couldn't recommend Gatto Matto enough! In preparation, the staff made sure I had everything I needed & was by my side to help set up, & continuously checked in on me throughout the day. To start off, the service is wonderful, our waitress listened to what we like & dislike (my friend doesn't eat cheese) & answered very well to the questions that we had in details, & even gave a few suggestions which we really appreciated. Moving onto the food, I ordered the Fettucini fruitti di mare (which is my favourite & go to dish in any italian restaurant), the portion is more than enough for one person. The pasta was cooked al dente, the seafood was exquisite & finally the arrabiata sauce was just the perfect amount of spiciness to let out all of the flavours of the dish. Lastly, I had the paloma cocktail which was really good. The only thing that is a little negative is that they ran out of desserts there were only two options left so we didn't fulfill our tiramisu cravings. But overall, I would definitely recommend!View more

This restaurant has excellent food, excellent ambiance. I suggest the salmon & tuna tartare! The drinks are great, the gelatto too. The soap in the bathroom smells like roses, adds to the restaurant's theme!
The free parking is a plus!
I recommend to all!
