The designer Jacques Gaspo from Foodtastic (behind La Belle & La Boeuf, Souvlaki Bar, Carlos & Pepe’s, Le Blossom, the new Nickels and Bacaro Pizzeria) developed Gatto Matto over a two year period. A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel with a girly touch. The creation of the open kitchen concept never seen before in the Montreal area (in collaboration with Hagop Hagopian, director of operations at Foodtastic and expert in kitchen design) allows you to see the best chefs in the region at work. Visited Gatto Matto for my bestfriends surprise party for a group of 15. The service was amazing & the food was divine! I will definitely be going back. Also if there are no events at Place Bell you can park in the underground parking for free. Get your ticket validated at the restaurant.View more

Gorgeous restaurant with excellent food (I really enjoyed the Pizza with Prosciutto Di Parma). 🍕 Our server, Veronica, was very kind & knowledgeable about the menu. Had seafood pasta..it was mediocre. Service the same..our wine arrived when we were half way through our meals & were told'we're very busy' by the waiter. Music is loud, hard to have a conversation but this is fine you like that sort of thing. We would have appreciated being told in advance that there was a gala tonight & that there would be limited free parking space. If you dont park on P13 (designated for the restaurant) the parking staff will make you pay upon exit. Although a few staff at Gatto Matto assured me I didnt have to pay since P13 was full, that wasn't the case.View more

My wife & I visited Gatto Matto Laval on February 15, & I wanted to take a moment to share our experience. I've been here before, & every visit reinforces why this place is so special.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm & inviting, with a spotless interior & convenient indoor parking. The staff is incredibly welcoming, making you feel like a VIP from start to finish.
The food? Absolutely top-notch. Gatto Matto delivers consistently outstanding quality, taste, & presentation. From the fresh bread & vibrant salads to the perfectly cooked pasta, steak, & expertly crafted cocktails, everything is exceptional in both quality & value.
A special shoutout to our waiter, Nuno, who provided fantastic service with a friendly & attentive approach. He truly enhanced our dining experience.
What I love most about Gatto Matto is how it encourages me to explore new flavors. Their creative & well-balanced combinations have introduced me to tastes I wouldn't have tried elsewhere.

Beau resto, serveuse charmante, drink & entrées très bien, où ça se gâte c'est pour les pâtes & les plats principaux: pâtes sèches & sans saveur, au menu une assiette de spaghetti au homard, tomates cerises, huile olive/ail/citron, il n'y avait aucune tomate, 3 miettes de homard & des pâtes sans saveur & sans huile. À $40, honteux pour un resto qui se dit italien. Mon ami a opté pour le mac-n-cheese, même chose pâtes sèches, très peu de fromage (le principe c'est d'avoir plein de fromage), pas bon. Le saumon était trop cuit. Donc, pour l'ambiance, un bon drink & une entrés ça va. Pour le parking ne vous fier pas à leur conseil: j'ai pris la porte 13 de la place Bell, ça a coûté $30 quand ils indiquent que ce sera gratuit. Soirée très dispendieuse.View more

The pasta was average, but expected more from italian restaurant. The Lamb on the other hand was not tasty, almost grey & the sauce was too acidic(58$) what a disappointment! Also want to mention the small portions & be prepared to pay 10-20$ for parking since there is none in front of the restaurant. Overall it's a fancy cute place but definitely don't go for the food nor good service.View more

Party of 7 Food was very good very tasty The pasta was delicious Rigatoni vodka sauce & linguini frutti di mare was the popular choice Drinks were very refreshing & large choice Service was a bit slow but it was really full & bustling with people Nice ambiance good music A must try !! Very disappointed... I heard so many great reviews about this restaurant. The food was average (I ordered the BUCATINI CARBONARA TRUFFE NOIRE). I couldn't swap the bucatini for linguini or fettuccini. I had two drinks. They both barely had any taste, they were watery & had way too much ice (Spritz - Apricot & Sangria - Milan). I didn't even finish any of them. For dessert i had three Cheesecake - New York style. I was okay. Nothing amazing... Overall, disappointed with the food. Our waitress was nice, but nothing extraordinary. The place is beautiful, beautiful decor!! The parking SUCKS! I paid 30$ because I parked at the Place Bell. I have a Christmas diner next week with my colleagues. Hopefully I have a better experience. :)View more

You need a university diploma to park at this place. It took forever to find their parking door, & when I entered a parking turns out I have to pay 16$ after 15 minutes (which already passed because I was lost looking everywhere). Then the hostess had to give me a speech on where I parked in return for a free parking pass, but it doesn't matter because it was the wrong door. So her « free pass » won't work anyway. So I got nothing. Doesn't matter the whole place, the night was already ruined by their horrible directions. Really, really, REALLY DISAPPOINTING.View more

This restaurant has excellent food, excellent ambiance. I suggest the salmon & tuna tartare! The drinks are great, the gelatto too. The soap in the bathroom smells like roses, adds to the restaurant's theme!
The free parking is a plus!
I recommend to all!
