The designer Jacques Gaspo from Foodtastic (behind La Belle & La Boeuf, Souvlaki Bar, Carlos & Pepe’s, Le Blossom, the new Nickels and Bacaro Pizzeria) developed Gatto Matto over a two year period. A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel with a girly touch. Good Italian restaurant with decent menu for a birthday dinner.
The host was attentive to our needs, drinks were kept topped off & friendly to
Boot.
I ordered the pistachio burrata spaghetti & don't let the portion size deceive you. I was very full after & found the portion generous.
I want to add that the fries were a letdown. These were oil-logged. & after a few bites I couldn't have anymore. Also, while I found the prices for everything on the menu very reasonable, I found it was overpriced for the fries (not including the fact that our plate of fries was untouched because of the oil).
For the dessert we had the Nutella bomboloni. Delicious & was one of the better bomboloni I've ever had.
This place had the music turned up way too loud. It's a mix of popular 2000s hits retuned to a dance beat. While it was nice to hop to a dance version of'smooth operator', this made conversation impossible. & I do recall leaving with a headache.View more

Had seafood pasta..it was mediocre. Service the same..our wine arrived when we were half way through our meals & were told'we're very busy' by the waiter. Music is loud, hard to have a conversation but this is fine you like that sort of thing. We would have appreciated being told in advance that there was a gala tonight & that there would be limited free parking space. If you dont park on P13 (designated for the restaurant) the parking staff will make you pay upon exit. Although a few staff at Gatto Matto assured me I didnt have to pay since P13 was full, that wasn't the case.View more

Food was good was decent . The pizza was too doughy on the crust. The appetizers was the star of the meal very crispy & perfectly cooked calamari. The pistachio pasta was also pretty good. The fior di late tagliatelle was very basic something that I was expecting to be a lot better. Our server was amazing explained the menu well kept our water refilled. The atmosphere on the other hand was not great, the music was super loud, to speak across the table we had to almost yell. Ended the night with Tylenol for a headache. The music could lowered a little bit & it would be a perfect evening.View more

To start off a little positive - their pizza was really good & just the right level of crispiness. Awesome French fries too! However, we found the calamari was extremely salty & very dried out. That being said, I can't give this place more than 3 stars. For starters, we were a large group of 8 that pretty much ordered right away...& it took over two hours to get our food (no exaggeration). Secondly, I am all for some music to add some ambiance, however, the music was so incredibly loud we couldn't hear anything. My ears were actually ringing by the time we left the restaurant. There's a difference between mood music & concert music. We had to practically yell at the waitress to place our order. Also, our table seemed to be completely forgotten (& we were in the dark) about. To get our water glasses refilled was non existent. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to love this place! The decor is super nice & the food wasn't bad at all...but definitely needs to improve their service & overall ambiance (music, lighting etc..).View more

Here is my review about this place. It's similar to the one in Faubourg Boisbriands, but I would say it's bigger. 1. Decoration 10/10 Very nicely, decorated compared to the other restaurant. It's wide & has a banquet. It has plants' mirrors. 2. Ambiance 10/10 I was surprised how good the ambiance was very good.Music.Very good people.Everybody was having a good time. 3. Service 10/10 The service there was impeccable. I'm not gonna lie. Each of them knew their menu. always suggest something that you would like. 4. Food 10/10 The food was excellent, very tasty with a lot of suggestions if you are a group. So that way, you don't need to pay for everything. If you want, you can divide your friends from meat lobster tails. You have the choice. 5. Cleanest 9/10 The bathroom was very clean. Smelled good. What was only missing some hand paper. The food was tasty & their alcoholic beverage (sangria) was a treat. Our waitress was friendly enough but service could have been more attentive. The restaurant itself is nice with its decor but it is way too dark! I had to bring the menu extremely close to my face to read it. Also, the music was obnoxiously loud as there was a DJ. We could not converse even with the person sitting next to us. We felt like we were in a nightclub. We saw waitresses taking shots with the patrons as well. Not very professional. I wouldn't recommend coming here as a family or with kids.View more

Only reason why I'm giving the service ;4 star ⭐️ & not 2 star is because Iknow what it's like to be a server we all have our off days. The food was good but not more than that. 3 star is because of the music. It's way too loud. I'd understand if it was easy listening Kenny G but club music at a restaurant. Lol come on I may be old but seriously ? It way way too loud.View more
