Review Summary

Fung Shing is widely celebrated as a staple in Montreal's Chinatown, known for its authentic, traditional Chinese cuisine and nostalgic atmosphere. Visitors consistently praise the restaurant for its friendly, attentive service and welcoming environment, which makes it a popular choice for both families and large groups. While the decor is often described as humble or no-frills, the high quality of the dishes, such as the wonton soup, roasted duck, and fried rice, keeps patrons returning for years. With reasonable prices and generous portion sizes, this establishment remains a reliable, long-standing favorite for those seeking comfort food and a genuine dining experience.

We were the only ones in the restaurant at 8pm on a Wednesday but that meant we had amazing service.

Food was fresh & hot & yummy. Really yummy wonton & they serve it to you at the table. The wonton is shrimp & pork.

The spring rolls (they don't have egg rolls) are delectable. They're not chopped cabbage they are shredded cabbage & mushrooms & they're so yummy.

Definitely recommend!

My latest delivery was quite disappointing. The lemon chicken which had thick chicken & light batter, now has thin slices of chicken with thick batter: exactly the opposite of what I want. The special won ton soup was also very average.

So far, I have had delivery 3 times from this restaurant & the quality has been very good. I finally found a lemon chicken that has good amounts of chicken with a light batter on the outside.
The vegetable fried rice has fresh tomatoes in it, making it pleasantly juicy & light. I also tried the soya chicken & BBQ pork; both were very good. My favorite though, is still the lemon chicken for now.
