Got take out here during a trip to Montreal. We ordered a smoked meat poutine which was 10/10 phenomenal. We also got a smoked meat sandwich which left a bit to be desired- the bread was not toasted & the sandwich was quite dry.View more

What a spot! Had lunch here & it was SO tasty! Our waiter was awesome, really helpful & so friendly. The smoked meat sandwich was amazing & SOOOO much meat, the portions were not small. The spot is a bit quirky but so relaxed; I cannot recommend the place enough. 100 dollars for some great food & drinks inc tax; what's not to like?!View more

Franklin's is a cool spot for good food & cold drinks. Definitely get New York hip hop vibes from the framed Yankees jerseys & the older gully rap. Service was terrific. Not a wide beer selection. Sapporo is tasty, but expensive. The smoked meat sandwich isn't as good as say Schwartzs deli but not bad! I do wish the meat to bread ratio was a bit more even. It's probably like 75% meat & the rest bread. The star of the night was their fried chicken sandwich. The sauce , the slaw, & the chicken breast itself, is perfect!View more

I stopped by Franklin's Subs & Suds in Old Montreal one night, & it was a fantastic way to end the evening. The highlight of my visit was the poutine with smoked meat. The fries were perfectly crispy, the gravy was savory without being overwhelming, & the smoked meat brought a rich, satisfying flavor that tied it all together. It was comfort food at its finest. The atmosphere at night was cozy & inviting, with just the right amount of buzz to keep the energy up without feeling crowded. The beer selection was impressive, offering plenty of options to pair with the meal. I enjoyed the relaxed vibe, where you could sit back & savor your food while soaking in the historic surroundings of Old Montreal. Overall, Franklin's delivered a great experience. The combination of tasty food, a comfortable setting, & a prime location makes it a spot worth visiting, especially after dark when Old Montreal's charm is at its peak. Manager was a legend. The most Welcoming we have felt in Montreal. We sat at the bar. He was accommodating & had great recommendations. We had a pint, an aperol spritz & a perfectly made espresso martini (hard to find). The smoked meat poutine is basically Reuben on poutine. It was glorious. Staff were all super nice & fun. The portion was huge - too much for one person, & best shared with another person (unless you're really hungry & looking for a meal!) Go here! Really low key, casual, good value & fun atmosphere. The smoked meat poutine was the best I've had & I've tried a lot of poutine. People behind us came in & out with tour guides just to pick up the poutine to-go on their tour so that tells you it's a spot worth going to. Our waiter was even kind enough to change out a bill for us to have enough bus fare (they only take coins unless you buy a pass). I'd definitely recommend Franklins & go again.View more
