Review Summary

Reviews describe Fous Desserts as a standout bakery in Montreal, with pastries that attract high praise and seasonal house made ice creams with inventive Japanese inspirations. The quality is repeatedly highlighted, croissants are often called the best in town, and desserts ranging from sesame and matcha creations to chocolatines win admiration, along with a generally welcoming atmosphere in many visits. The cafe is noted as baby friendly and offers friendly service in several notes, while other experiences mention miscommunications with birthday cake orders, cakes arriving deflated or not as pictured, and price concerns. Some reviews also point to inconsistent staff attitudes and a less welcoming vibe at times, though drinks such as hojicha and matcha lattes are well received. Overall, the place comes across as a bakery that delivers strong flavor and originality, though service, availability and value can vary.

I got a dessert from this place... it is called Mont Framboise & it was quite expensive... 49$+ ... add to it the tip....
Well... It was well done ... except it tasted mostly cardamom... I am absolutely sure it tasted above all cardamom..
Now I am not saying cardamom is no good... I love it & I used it ...except that the amount it tasted in that dessert was either
a batch done wrong
or an experience in the road to ....
or a wired tased ot their chef pâtissier
I googled the Japaneses cooking & dessert & cardamom never came up as a common ingredient ... so why I payed 52$ for some fancy chocolate mousse with hints of raspberry & loads of cardamom ?
I have my answer to keep to myself...

Great selection of warm drinks. I had the chance to try their hojicha latte with soy milk. They have many vegetarian friendly desserts from macha-almond croissants to yuzu flavored chocolates, Unfortunately apart from drinks & a small selection of sorbets, there weren't any plant-based pastries or cakes. Nonetheless, it's a pretty unique fusion (Japanese-French) to see for a bakery.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a coffee shop. Next door had a weird getting but here was super friendly & helpful. The lady let me try some of their ice creams & the black sesame was so good. The matcha & hojicha you can tell have really tea powder in them. I ordered a chai which they make fresh & is in the another, slight spice side. I also ordered a shot of decaf. I thought they had wifi but they do not so I couldn't work here. They also sell chocolate & pastries which looked & smelled really good.

Their hot chocolate was stellar! You get to choose from a variety of chocolates which was a treat. The service is very friendly & warm too. The space can use a bit more warmth but the front seats with the succulent plants are quite cozy. Their organic croissant was also very good. Definitely recommend ☕️

Nice staff. Prices are fair but on the higher end. I had a chocolatine & an almond croissant, & I found both of them a bit too heavy for my taste (pastry wise- I prefer them flakier & less dense). Chocolate in the chocolatine was slightly melted, depends if you like that or not! I'd go again if wanting a heavy pastry & I feel like they're best shared. Can't comment on the atmosphere as I took it to go but it did have a bit of an unpleasant smell inside.

Chocolatier Fous Desserts is a haven for chocolate lovers. With customizable chocolate richness percentages, the expertise of the staff shines. The menu extends beyond chocolates to include sorbets, pastries, & a captivating selection of Japanese teas & items. A delightful destination for diverse & exquisite treats.
