Beautiful cakes, pastries, viennoiseries, chocolate product all made in-house. Award-winning.

I've seen the review about Farine & Cacao saying the desserts were not bad, & I agree to some extent. I tried a praline dessert that was actually quite good.

However, I found the croissants very ordinary & didn't enjoy them. We ordered a galette des rois, which was appreciated taste-wise, but it was very, very small for the price, in my opinion. It was decent overall, so I feel a bit mixed, but I would still give Farine & Cacao another chance.

The strawberry & pistachio filled croissants were disappointing; I didn't find the flavors very tasty. The hot chocolate was really not good.

Heard good things, so paid a visit. Ordered a few pastries, including the Cube au Chocolat & Caramel, the Mangue, Fruit de la Passion, & Noix de Coco, & the Pistache & Framboise. It was difficult to choose because several of them looked interesting. We enjoyed all 3, quite a bit. I loved the Raspberry one, but we both really loved the Chocolate & Caramel cube. I enjoy pastries, & occasionally indulge. I have tried a variety from different locations (including Italian, French, & middle Eastern bakeries), & I can certainly recognize the quality of the pastries from Farine & Cacao. If they aren't the absolute best I've ever had, they're certainly the best I can remember, & certainly, easily, one of the best. A lot of times, pastries look great, but taste kind of generic, or are too sweet - these ones had us both sitting there not speaking, because we were distracted by the flavors & textures. We are going to go back & try some other ones. Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended for those who enjoy fine pastries. Also, the staff were the loveliest people. Very friendly & helpful.

Absolutely stellar experience at Farine & Cacao on Ontario Street! This patisserie-chocolaterie is a true gem in Montreal, offering some of the most beautifully crafted pastries & chocolates you'll find anywhere-inside or outside the city.

What sets Farine & Cacao apart is not just the quality of their sweets, but also the passion behind them. Chef Christian Campos brings global experience & a commitment to minimizing waste & reducing sugar without sacrificing flavor.

The shop has even been recognized internationally, earning a prestigious La Liste Pastry Discovery Gem award-a testament to its world-class offerings.

While the prices are on the higher side, the experience & quality justify the cost for any true pastry lover. The ambiance is cozy & refined, with tables at the back where you can enjoy your treats with a cup of expertly brewed coffee.

If you're looking for a special treat or a memorable spot for afternoon tea, Farine & Cacao is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fine pastries, beautiful presentation, & a touch of international flair right here in Montreal.

I quite enjoyed my yuzu citrus tart. The hot chocolate felt a little weak but it might have been due to the tart.
Had a raspberry croissant & quite enjoyed it.

This place opens at 10am. Unfortunately it is a bit late for café & chocolatine. So I bought myself a 1-Chocolate mousse with salted caramel fondant in the middle & a 2- chocolatine. 1-Could not fault it but the salty caramel did not taste strong enough with all that chocolate mousse & powder. My main problem is bringing it back. She was going to put my 2 square inch fancy treat in a HUGE box. So I asked to put it in a bag & got a bit of an attitude there. The bag did a good job once the delicacy was put at the bottom of the bag. If it would be in that huge box it would have been completely destroyed. Consider buying different box sizes. 2- The Chocolatine looked impresseive on the counter. It was very taste but it lacked chocolate. The chocolat is nice & not too sugary. They had a few very original items there. Hopefully they have good corporate business as the location is not the best for such a fancy & not an quite & affordable option. Someone mention having to queue to enter...Most of been lost tourists.

Heard about this place on social media, it seems quite popular as they were recently awarded an international pastry prize. We arrived before opening around 9:45AM on Friday September 20th. There was already a couple people in line, we were 3rd. As we got closer to the 10AM opening, a line of about a dozen people formed. Doors opened at 10:05 AM, they were still not done setting up pastries in the display. Only 5 people were allowed entrance at a time due to limited space. First impression is that it looks very elegant, high end, beautiful little cakes & pastries that are almost too pretty to eat. We ordered 4 different cakes: the black forrest cherry, yuzu tart, a chocolate/caramel mousse, & the rapsberry/pistachio cake, along with 2 of their stuffed croissants. Most cakes were around $9 a pop & I believe the croissants were close to $5 each. Considering the small size, these are not cheap. Service wise - there were only 2 employees, they were slow to take the orders & prepare the boxes, which needed to be set up & taped. This should have been done ahead of time as assemblings boxes for all customers on the spot really slowed down the process. I have seen reviews of people waiting upwards of an hour, I can understand why. It takes an average of 5-10 mins per customer, since people always have questions on the products, then take their time choosing & paying. Flavor wise - our favorite was the yuzu tart & raspberry/pistachio cake. The black forrest cherry cake was lacking flavor & seemed kind of wet in the middle. Their cakes are made with real fruit or purees so if you don't eat them right away they tend to get soggy. The croissants were filled with cream inside, they were a bit too heavy & sweet for my liking. Other than aesthetics, I am not sure what is so special about this place - I am not a big cake or pastry connoisseur but I can't say I was blown away. They make a nice gift since they are beautiful & I can tell they are fresh & well made but they cakes were not delicious & not worth the price or wait times.

Felt like the exclusive club of bakeries. I waited 25 minutes in line outside. Tiny place, upscale, insanely Parisian French (even the staff from what I can tell). Each food item has a surgical, clinical quality. I had creamy lemon tart. It was super yummy, deserves to be eaten very slowly. They had all sorts of artisanal minimalist chocolate bars. I didn't try them but they also look like good gifts for friends or lovers. The staff look you in the eye, elegantly, clearly trained to tone down French effeteness & condescension. I liked that. Prices are high, & seem justified.

Definitely to be visited. We went for all types of croissants, an Americano & two pastries (Paris Brest & Chocolat & Caramel). Everything was great. Particularly liked the croissants - plain, chocolate, almond & strawberry. Americano was good too. The gentleman was very friendly & explained the items very well, including the homemade chocolates collection they have. There's about 15 people seating capacity inside. Plenty of street parking available on both sides of the street although we had a traffic backed up on a weekday evening till about 5-6 intersections, so we just parked at one point & walked about two intersections. Definitely recommended!!

We ordered a cake Caramel & Chocolate from them. It was absolutely amazing. Not only was I able to customize but also to find a time that worked for everybody for me to pick it up.
