Review Summary

Farine & Cacao is widely recognized in Montreal for its visually stunning, artistic, and creatively crafted pastries, chocolates, and viennoiseries. Many visitors praise the balanced, less-sweet flavor profiles and high-quality ingredients, with particular acclaim for the raspberry, pistachio, and gianduja croissants, as well as the yuzu tart. While the service is frequently described as friendly and professional, opinions regarding the value remain divided, as some patrons find the pricing high relative to portion sizes or express disappointment with inconsistent texture and depth of flavor in certain items. Despite mixed reviews regarding overall intensity and complexity, the establishment is often considered a must-visit destination for those who appreciate fine, aesthetically pleasing French-style desserts.

Love their pastries, especially their croissants. Apparently, there can be long lines because they won an international price, but every time I have been service had been fast & efficient. It is not cheap, but it is reflected in the quality of the ingredients & food. They have a nice spot to grab a cup of coffee & catch up with a friend. I like that their pastries are seasonal & on rotation. But honestly the croissants are a must try!

Every item is done & presented really well, price is high but for the quality it's absolutely worth it, super cozy interior & nice staff, will come back for sure!

Très bonne patisserie. J'ai adoré leur tartelette choco pacane & leur croissant framboise. Les serveurs sont très gentils. J'ai apprécié mon expérience. Je reviendrai sans aucun doute

Not as knock-down-amazing as the recent press would indicate, I've had much better in France but this is probably as close as you're going to get in Montréal. I enjoyed the filled croissant much better than I enjoyed the pastry but everything is gorgeous & the service is impeccably polite. I wouldn't wait in line to go here but I would come back for a croissant & a coffee.

I love pastries. I used to visit the best pastries ot France & belgium : Michalak, hermé, conticcini, ... i miss them. But here comes Farine & Cacao. Simply put : by far the best pastries of Montreal.

Some of the best pastries I've ever had, especially the raspberry & pistachio croissants. Bring a friend, so you can taste a few things!!! Also, considering how incredible the food is, it's very reasonably priced. I've paid a lot more for a lot worse! Highly recommend, & I'll definitely be back again!
