Farine & Cacao impresses with beautifully crafted pastries, elegant presentation, and inventive flavors that many reviewers rate among the best in Montreal and even Canada, with the staff often described as friendly and attentive. Prices are frequently noted as high and several items are cited as not living up to the cost, including croissants that feel ordinary, desserts that are bland or overly sweet, and some experiences with texture. Nevertheless, standout items are repeatedly mentioned, such as the Paris Brest and the yuzu tart, as well as chocolate and pistachio croissants, with many praising the visual appeal, delicate balance of flavors, and the sense of luxury. The ambiance is described as refined and cozy, with pre-ordering available to secure favorites. Overall, Farine & Cacao offers a high quality patisserie experience with artful desserts, but there is debate about value for money.
I've seen the review about Farine & Cacao saying the desserts were not bad, & I agree to some extent. I tried a praline dessert that was actually quite good.
However, I found the croissants very ordinary & didn't enjoy them. We ordered a galette des rois, which was appreciated taste-wise, but it was very, very small for the price, in my opinion. It was decent overall, so I feel a bit mixed, but I would still give Farine & Cacao another chance.
The strawberry & pistachio filled croissants were disappointing; I didn't find the flavors very tasty. The hot chocolate was really not good.
Merci!

Great desserts! Beautiful designs & interesting taste pairing. Very convenient pre-ordering. This is a must if you want to secure what you want before it sells out.
I love this café! Truly one of the best in Montreal. The staff are always friendly, it's pet-friendly, & the desserts are beyond praise. Each cake feels like a work of art. Always a five-star experience! This café has completely stolen my heart! ☕?🍮🩵💚💛

Got there right when they were opening there was a lineup to get in. It's a nice little cafe with a few tables & a terrasse at the back. We tried the pistachio, raspberry & hazelnut croissants & chocolatine. It's on the thicker side & not too crispy. There was a hint of pistachio flavour, but it's the one that had the most filling. There was barely any hazelnut filling in the hazelnut one. The raspberry one tasted the best. The little sour taste gave it some freshness. The chocolatine, although it was still warm, was just a bit crispy. The matcha latte was good & the cappuccino was alright. I would go back to try their different desserts though. The staff was super friendly. 👍
I saw this place on MTL blog, one of the best patisserie places. I can say this was pleasant surprise. 9$ a dessert 🍨. But it is a coffee place also. They have a terrace in the back. Was a pleasant experience. The mango dessert was interesting but I think my favorite was the raspberry cake. Wish there was more variety when I was there. The service was great & very friendly.
This is the best place for those with a sweet tooth, we took two desserts (mango - good, raspberry - great). Service is average, decor is ordinary, more to take out
