About

Falafel Yoni defines the modern casual approach to Middle Eastern street food through a focused selection of crispy, freshly fried falafel and rich, velvety hummus. The menu centers on expertly crafted pita sandwiches packed with vibrant salads, pickled vegetables, and signature tahini sauces that balance acidity with deep nuttiness. Each ingredient is sourced to ensure consistent texture and punchy, authentic flavor profiles across every serving. The setting facilitates a rapid, efficient pace, prioritizing the delivery of hot, spiced chickpeas and fluffy bread to patrons seeking bold, savory snacks. Patrons experience a streamlined process where the combination of high-quality proteins and crisp produce takes precedence over elaborate service styles. The establishment serves as a reliable destination for those prioritizing consistent culinary execution and the distinct, savory elements essential to traditional Lebanese-inspired vegetarian offerings.

Review Summary

Falafel Yoni is widely celebrated as a staple in Montreal, with many patrons praising it for serving some of the best falafel sandwiches in the city. The food is frequently described as fresh, flavorful, and filling, with the pita and various sauces receiving particular acclaim for their authentic quality. While the majority of visitors highlight the fast, friendly service and the welcoming atmosphere, a few guests have noted inconsistencies regarding portion sizes, the temperature of sides like fries, or the cleanliness of the dining area. Despite these occasional critiques, the consensus remains overwhelmingly positive, with many diners appreciating the diverse vegetarian options and the overall value, making it a highly recommended destination for a satisfying and quick meal.

Fresh & delicious falafel sandwiches, great consistency from one visit to the next. Also they do a great job of branding. Yoni's is always a good idea.

Absolutely delicious sandwiches! Generous amount of toppings in the pita, & the falafel was fantastic. Their spicy sauce is amazing & adds a great kick.

usually love this spot but the employees were kind of rude & giving us odd stares. they made our falafel with way too much lemon, but otherwise it was fine

THE place to go for a quick & tasty Falafel sandwich. I've been a fan for years of their original Wellington Str. (Verdun) outlet, but their St. Viateur branch (this photo) is great to visit too. One negative point : the last time I stopped by at St. Viateur, my pita bread was "stone cold", which made my sandwich much less appealing. A special oven to keep their bread warm was going to be purchased, they told me. Let's keep an eye on that promise!

Staff were friendly, quick, & accommodating. The food belonged in the trash though. Pita was cold & soggy Falafel was lukewarm Humus was just toss in a lump at the bottom There was an overwhelming pickle flavour that dominated the dish Fries were soggy & lukewarm Sure the portions were big, but more trash is still trash. Adjust your ingredients Do a quick fry of the pita before sending it out & flash fry your fries before you do the final fry If you are thinking about going here to eat, don't. Not worth the $20 I spent

Soggy & cold. I usually don't write reviews but this was pretty bad. $18 for a wet mess that I didn't finish. Staff was fine, food left much to be desired. Will not be coming back

Not as good as the temporary location at Atwater. The fries were not seasoned well & even though they were made fresh they were soggy. It was weird. Went on a Sunday evening around dinner time & the falafels were cold. My dinner partner got a salad & felt sick from it. I really have to give props to the staff at the Atwater location during summer 2024. They made me a fan of Falafel Yoni & that's why I wanted to try out this location when I was back in Mtl, but I will not be back! So go check out the Atwater spot if you can...they put a lot of care into my sandwich (fresh falafel made to order) & fries (so much zaatar).
