fresh(80) sesame(76) cheese(69) cash(40) shop(38) debit(34) viateur(30) dozen(24) oven(23) salmon(23) canadian(23) style(21)We headed to the newly opened Fairmount bagel cafe where they serve coffee, smoothies & various sweet & savoury bagel sandwiches. My husband chose the smoked salmon on a sesame bagel & I chose butter, honey & sea salt also in a sesame bagel. The coffees were very good & the bagel sandwiches were delicious! Exactly the style of bagel I prefer.
Un des meilleurs endroits à bagel de Montréal. Selon l'heure, préparez vous à faire la file. Il y a de tout pour garnir vos bagels, du fromage à la crème jusqu'au saumon fumé sous toutes ses formes. Service rapide & courtois.
Visited this place around 1:30 pm due to its hype on social media, was extremely underwhelmed with the service. The brunette girl behind the counter was exceptionally rude for no reason & was very unwelcoming in her demeanor. The other girl at the counter was nice, wish I interacted with her instead. I understand that the place is famous & busy, but there is something about basic decency that needs to be used.
A real deal Montreal bagel shop with a long history, great bagels, great staff, & a great experience, which I recommend, even though I still prefer Brooklyn style bagels.
By the way, there is a Café Fairmount Bagel across the street, especially if you want a drink or a sandwich
I bought the sesame bagel. It was so yummy andfresh. Like you can tell the difference between store-bought vs fresh bagels.
We did the Montreal Bagel challenge & the winner for'eat hot out of the oven', tasting for bite, crust.... we took it VERY seriously, goes to... 😋

What I Like 👍:
A) Fresh bagels if you order at the front.
B) They have cream Cheese & spreads for sale as well.
C) It has history & a one of the popular bagel shops.
D) Service is good. They are bilingual. French & English.
What I did not like 👎:
A) Some of the bells they give were a little burnt for me.
B) It's a not a bagel shop where they put meat or salmon etc. Many tourist think it's like a sandwich shop.
C) No credit. Only Canadian Debit or Money.
D) Pricey for my budget still worth it though.
Final thoughts 💭:

An iconic bagel shop in Montreal that's conveniently open 24/7. I got their sesame & onion bagels which I enjoyed. Personally do prefer St.Viatuer's but these are quite good as well. They are cash only under $10 I believe & also accept debit.
Fairmount Bagel has special & tasty bagels. The bagels are a little smaller than typical U.S. bagels, but the taste is very nice. They also have coffee & a dining area across the street. A unique place to try in Montreal.
