fresh(70) sesame(69) cheese(63) cash(36) shop(31) viateur(30) debit(30) dozen(23) canadian(21) salmon(20) oven(20) garlic(19)Best bagels in the world, no really the best in the world, if you buy some to bring home, a little tip, they are tricky to cut but if you warm them up in the microwave for 15-20 seconds (30 seconds from frozen) it will cut much easier.
Just lovely. The bagels are iconically Montreal. I had Le Jack, which was delicious. Just the right amount of cream cheese! While the place is busy, you don't have to wait long. You won't forget it!
Overhyped with some pretty bad customer service. They don't take credit card, won't take CAD $20 bills & were very pushy. Said they had everything & it was all fresh but then when we tried to order different flavors we're told they didn't have any. Why even bother lying? The sesame bagel was way too sweet - think Chinese sesame bun sweet.
At least there was no line at 7:30am.
Note, below $10, they will only take cash. I only had old notes, which they rejected. Also only local debit cards accepted, but will take overseas cards for a fee. At that point, I left, without trying. St-Viateur win hands down with their immaculate service. For just over $8 for 2 bagels & tuna spread, they provided serviettes, a knife, & cleaned a preparation table for me, all with friendly smile, & accepted my overseas credit card without any fuss.
This place was really nice. The people were really nice. The vibe is really nice. But for the bagels? Hell no. I got the lox bagel I'm not sure what it's called but it was the most disgusting fishy tasting bagel I've ever had. I had hopes for the bagels but they're all just flat & hard not really good & it's doesn't look appealing. Now I'm not saying everything about this place was bad but the bagel was horrendous & for the amount I paid for it? Even more so. Prices here are out of this world for the smallest bite of something
Delicious bagel sandwiches & drinks with oat milk. The inside seating is small, but very nicely decorated with the long history of the restaurant, which is nice to admire as you dine.
The bagel is soft & fresh. I had salmon sandwich. The salmi tastes smooth & delicious. Worth the effort. Also, we came in on a workday. The space is perfect & not crowded. Staff is super friendly.
Très bon place pour un repas de gnocchis sur le pouces a très non prix 5$ je recommande
I'm a confirmed Fairmont man. Best bagels in the city, best bagels in North America. Well worth standing outside in line in Montreal January weather for. Need I say more?
Now I clearly understand why everyone recommends this place when it comes to bagels in Montréal. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the smell of fresh bagels. I tried the sesame & all-dressed bagels, & both were incredible. The outside is slightly crispy, while the inside is soft with a lightly sweet flavour. Eating them fresh out of the oven is a completely different experience. The variety is really impressive from classic sesame, poppy seed, garlic, &'everything' bagels to sweet options, there are plenty of choices.
Ronda the owner was very nice & kind customer service & the bagels were fantastic. Would definitely go back.
