We went for my brother in laws birthday & food was delicious. Food was served quickly once ordered. Staff was friendly & offered tailor orders for us & were patient with the younger kids in our group.
The food & drinks are on the expensive side, however the experience was worth it. Wish portions were a tad bigger. Only negative point.View more

C'est la première fois que je visitais ce resto avec ma fille. Nous avons adoré notre expérience. Nous étions sur la terrasse & la rue Wellington était piétonnière, donc c'était très calme. Nos drinks étaient très bons, ne goûtaient pas le chimique comme c'est parfois le cas ailleurs. Comme entrée, on a pris les nachos avec du fromage chaud à l'intérieur, c'était juste wow! Nos tacos étaient très bons, peut-être juste ceux au porc qui étaient un peu secs, mais on a ajouté un peu de la sauce qui était fournie dans l'assiette, & ça a été super correct. Nos préférés, ceux aux crevettes. :) On a oublié de nous fournir des ustensiles, & après, de nous donner des assiettes, ce pourquoi j'ai mis 4 étoiles & non 5 étoiles pour le service, mais les serveurs étaient super sympas. Nous comptons revenir parce que nous avons beaucoup aimé le resto & la nourriture.View more

This place is usually full in the evenings with great drinks decor & ambiance & their beautiful terrace in the summer. But people dont seem to know that they are also opened for breakfast /brunch. I just can not get enough of their chilaquiles verde & my boyfriend love their enchiladas gratinadas. The prices are super affordable. My big plate of chilaquiles was 13.95$. Seriously, come & try it out. It would be so sad if they stopped doing brunch.View more

First time visit on a whim. Not much of a greeting. Nice decor. Menu impossibly hard to read. Drinks & food slightly overpriced but good. Service was very sub par. They seemed very disorganized. Waited for much of our order. Was added two items we never ordered on our bill that we initially paid for. Got reimbursed. No sorry for the mistakes. Left full, but overall disappointed. If you want my loyalty, you need to do more to stand out...not gonna go back.View more

During the summer, wellington is walkable so there is a nice & quite terrasse to sit & enjoy the nice weather & be able to talk & share with friends, inside, the decoration is interesting & gives the sensation of cozyness. Food is very tasty with the blends of flavors that they do like the nopal & sirloin steak tacos, they have a variety of drinks/cocktails & the price matches the quality & amount of food. Very good food but the person that took my order was someone who proposed me the most expensive drinks & i was served with more tacos than what i told the waiter my bill came back to 120$ with the 15% tips i was pissed because nobody presented me any menu & i didn't knew it was prices for escorts & sugar daddies especially when im a lonely women who lives alone with a rent to pay on my own. This restaurant offers authentic Mexican food, though the portions are small & more suited as snacks. While the focus is on drinks, the atmosphere is pleasant. It would benefit from adding some homemade chili sauces. Overall, it's not expensive.View more

One word to describe our night... Amazing. Perfect for carnivores, pescatarians, vegetarians & vegans ! We were 6 people (3 couples), the waiter recommended the Escondite experience for 45$ (which we all took) it included guacamole & chips, mango & cucumber salad, chicken wings&ribs (vegan option cauliflower wings), mushroom & cheese tortilla, 3 kinds of tacos (fish, chicken &pork) & for plant based (cauliflower & vegan protein) & finally churros for dessert. Everything tasted so fresh & so flavourful. 🤤😍 The waiter also recommended the spicy margarita.... yuuuuuumm. I took 2 it was so delicious!! I hate cilantro & all I had to do is mention it & problem solved. First time I can actually enjoy so many mexican dishes without it ! Drinks & food was so good & everyone was completely full & satisfied at the end of the night. Service was perfect as well ! Second visit: what an incredible experience. Jose & both his parents greeted us so warmly, treating us like family. The food was absolutely incredible, everything tasting authentic & mouth-watering. The tasters menu allowed us to try so many different options & the drinks were delicious. The decor is out of this world. Wall mural by Stikki_peaches showing "The Last Supper" Nacho Libre style. First visit: Lena was an amazing waitress! We had such a great experience eating at the Verdun location. Lena was attentionate & kind. Was able to make amazing drinks. The food was absolutely out of this world. The Atun tostada was reordered at the end of the night because it was fantastic. All the tacos (chicken, baja, shrimp) were perfection. Would recommend 10/10View more

It was a little loud when we first arrived but we were given a booth at the back of the restaurant, which could have been a little wider, but was quiet. I had the pleasure of having Escondite Verdun take care of my special event. The manager José Manuel is absolutely brilliant! He knew how much my event was important for me, & all the little details! He took the time of listening & gave me some ideas too as how & what would be best for my event . On the event day , he & the staff were just absolutely amazing! Taking care of our needs they did a 💯 service & quality as well.
The food & the drinks were amazing & the ambiance was great!
If you want to celebrate something here is the place to do it & you will love it !

J'ai fait des Escondite mais c'est la place que j'aime le plus! Beau décor avec de succulents tacos. On en a goûté le Mexique! Des drinks sont superbes sans parlé du service impeccable & amical. Demandez José, le meilleur :)

Tout d'abord, l'endroit était très bruyant, nous ne pouvions donc pas nous entendre. Notre serveur nous a dit qu'il apporterait notre commande en 2 services. Mais, ils ont apporté presque tout à la fois, donc ça remplissait à peu près notre toute petite table & c'était dangereux car ils avaient de vraies bougies & nous devions la déplacer nous-mêmes, ce qui était très chaud. La nourriture est bonne & c'est ce à quoi nous nous étions habitués dans d'autres Escondites. J'ai commandé un autre verre à l'un des serveurs qui a dit "oui, bien sûr" & il n'est jamais revenu du tout. Notre serveur, qui semblait pressé toute la nuit, nous a demandé si nous voulions du dessert & nous avons commandé des churros. Un de ses collègues est alors revenu avec un keylime. Nous avons dit que c'était probablement une erreur alors il est retourné à la cuisine (le même gars qui n'est jamais revenu avec mon verre). Nous avons pensé qu'il a probablement dit à la cuisine de faire des churros. Puis 15 minutes plus tard, notre serveur revient à notre table où il avait placé nos assiettes & il a vu qu'elles étaient vides & nous dit qu'il s'était rendu compte qu'il avait fait une erreur & avait commandé le mauvais dessert & que nos churros finiraient par arriver. Nous avons donc attendu encore 20 à 25 minutes. On est allé aux toilettes, puis on est revenu. Encore pas de dessert. Notre serveur n'est même jamais revenu pour vérifier si nous avions eu notre dessert. Ma femme était frustrée & j'ai dû aller au bar & demander à une autre collègue de nous apportez la facture & d'annuler notre commande de churros car le cuisinier semblait être en train de laver le plancher & son quart de travail était manifestement terminé. Pendant tout ce temps, le restaurant était presque vide... & personne ne semblait se soucier que nous attendions là avec des assiettes vides. Puis notre serveur, qui évidemment n'a jamais commandé nos churros, est revenu à notre table avec une paire de shooters en réalisant sa double erreur. Je dois admettre que j'ai haussé le ton & je m'excuse auprès de notre serveur & de toute l'équipe. Mais notre serveur a alors dit'Pourquoi ne m'avez-vous pas dit que vous attendiez tout ce temps ?'. Wow. Ok, c'était de notre faute maintenant. Espérons que les choses vont changer. ------------------ First, the place was very loud so we couldn't hear each other. Our waiter told us he would bring our order in 2 services. But they brought almost everything at once so it pretty much crammed our very small stable & was dangerous because they have real candles & we had to move it ourselves which was very hot. The food is good & it's what we've been used to in other Escondites. I ordered another drink to one of the waiters who said'yes, of course' & he never came back at all. Our waiter, who seemed in a rush all night, asked us if we wanted dessert & we ordered churros. One of his colleagues then came back with a keylime. We said it was probably a mistake so he went back to the kitchen (The same guy who never came back with my drink). We thought ok, he probably told the kitchen to make churros. Then 15 mins later, our waiter comes back to our table where he had placed our plates & he saw they were empty & then told us he realized he made a mistake & ordered the wrong dessert & that our churros would come eventually. So we waited another 20-25 mins. Went to the washroom, came back. No dessert. Our waiter never even came back to check if we had our dessert yet. My lady was upset & I had to go to the bar & asked another colleague to bring us the check & to cancel our order of churros because the cook seemed to be washing the floor & his shift was obviously over. During this whole time, the restaurant was almost empty... & nobody seemed to care that we were waiting there with empty plates. Then our waiter, who obvisouly never ordered our churros, came back to our table with a pair of shooters seeing we were all upset & realizing his double mistake. I have to admit I made a scene & I apologize to our waiter & the whole crew. But our waiter then said'Why didn't you told me you were waiting all this time?'. Wow. Ok well it was our fault now. Hopefully things will change.
