Honestly, one of my favourite places to go have a drink or to eat in the Montreal area. Sometimes, I even go on my own to have a nice & relaxed meal. Also, they make me feel at home over there. Yona & Quique, who are always managing the bar (among others), make amazing cocktails, & it is super fun to have a chat with. 100% recommended! :-)

Endroit très agréable pour déguster un cocktail entre amis. Il y a aussi une terrasse. Pas nécessairement le meilleur taco au monde mais l'ambiance & le service en valent la peine.
Super bonne bouffe & service au top, je vous conseille le menu avec un mix de leur meilleur assiettes c'était débile ! Les cocktails en revanche ne sont vraiment pas bon & mérite d'être améliore
Expérience exceptionnelle au Escondite Union hier soir. Non seulement la nourriture fut délicieuse, mais le service était excellent. Nous célébrions un anniversaire entre amies & avons passé un très beau moment. Les cocktails étaient rafraîchissants & nous avons adoré les tacos. Je recommanderais particulièrement les tacos al pastor, qui étaient très savoureux. De plus, le restaurant est bien situé downtown, & est un « must » a essayer selon moi! Un grand merci à Claire & Katie pour leur chaleureux service. Nous seront certainement de retour.
Super endroit ! La décoration est magnifique & l'espace est grand & aéré. Le service impeccable de Kike a fait de notre soirée un moment mémorable. Le menu découverte à 45$ était un excellent choix. Tout était bon. Le style de la nourriture est de type latino-mexicaine/fusion. Grand choix de tequila & de mezcal. Les cocktails sont sublimes. Je recommande chaudement.
We had eaten at another one of Escondite Cerveceria de Barrio restaurants on a previous visit to Montreal, & really enjoyed it. They describe themselves as "Escondite Cerveceria de Barrio are Mexican restaurants situated in Montreal, West-Island, Laval & Repentigny, that serves Mexican inspired goodies & house crafted Tequila cocktails." We'd already had lunch, so the choice of small plates was ideal. We chose some guacamole to start with, followed by some very tasty tacos. Really nice: well presented & very delicious. We ate: - Guacamole served with smoked paprika totopos - Coliflor: corn tortilla, paste, crispy cauliflower, black bean pepper crema, coriander - Cochinita Pibil: corn tortilla, pork cooked in banana leaf, marinated onions, black bean paste - Ensalada De Mangos: mango, cucumber, coriander, peanuts, shallots, pickled shallots, crispy chamoy dressing, serrano chile Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16
On est partie un groupe de huit pour un 5@7 ,ils nous ont dit ça fait deux semaines qu'ils sont ouvert,super belle place avec une nourriture très bonne est aussi des cocktails très pensées,on seras de retour!!

belle decouverte. Montreal a finalement un cheval de bataille de taille pour ce qui en est de la cuisine mexicaine,
un menu actuel, traditionnel & actualisé aux tendances d'ajourdhuit! c'etait delicieux.
les ailes de poulet a l'erable & au chipotle, le taco au smoked meat ainsi que la quesadilla a la truffe noire.nous n'avons pas essayé les cocktails. je garde ca pour une prochaine fois.

Was recommended to be by a friend & it way surpassed my expectations. Our party of 4 arrived on a Friday night with out reservations. We were greeted at the door & told it would about a 15 minute wait & was offered a spot at the Bar. The first thing you notice is the great décor. Not your cheesy Mexican joint, but a cool hip South-of-the-boarder vibe. At the bar we enjoyed some fantastic & unique cocktails (try the one with the chilli powder, can't remember the name). Within minutes our table was ready, we were seated & our wonderful server Alisha was ready to take our order.
The food choices are outstanding & vast. With it's tapas type menu it was fun to order food to share. The fish tacos, veg quesadillas & guacamole dip were outstanding, but personal favourite were the ribs (ordered a second plate just for myself)
Being to full for dessert we opted to move back to the bar, which was now fairly full & hopping, to enjoy some more cocktails.
All in all, it was a wonderful evening, with great food & excellent service & I cannot wait to go back for more.

Absolutely delicious ,was there last night the decor is really unique ,it feels like your really in Mexico .
The food & drinks were very tasty & really original, the home runs were there smoke meat taco ,the quesidillas ,the bajo taco(black cod),& the shrimp ceviche was delishe, they have a very interesting cocktail list , i definitely suggest you have a one of those.Whats also good is that there situated walking distance from Quartier des spectacles so great place to have a bite before a show!
