This is such a classic Montreal Italian joint, been around forever! Prices are great & there are musicians walking around playing violin; really a blast from the past! Vibes were more Italian than Nona's house. I don't think the pasta is homemade & I'm pretty sure the pizza doesnt use that classic Italian dough, but I'm not 100% sure so don't take my word for it & go try it out. Service was decent, food came quick, it didn't blow me away but the price makes up for it. $40 gets you dinner, dessert, coffee so no complaints. Hits that Italian craving just right!
WAY MORE THAN PIZZA! The food & the service here are excellent. My husband had the pizza with anchovies & enjoyed it. I had the cannelloni. It was delicious. The veal dish & the fettuccine mama were also tasty. For appetizers, we enjoyed the eggplant & tomatoes with burrata. The eggplant was my favorite. We also enjoyed prosecco & some red wine. It was a lovely lunch. For dessert, we had homemade mini cannolis. Delicious! The menu is extensive. The restaurant itself is very clean. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Outside seating when weather is nice. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for quality Italian food.

I stopped here for lunch & took the lunch menu. The service was excellent. The minestrone was perfect. They switched me in an Arugola pizza (at no extra charge) which was incredible. Quaint, unassuming, authentic Italian.
Everything about this place was amazing. From the service (especially the service) to the cooking & the ambiance with the Italian guitar player & singer coming to your table, it's perfect. Frank was our waiter for our group, among someone else whose name I didn't get, young woman, great service. Frank was telling me how it had been I think 45 years he was doing that, & it shows.
The food was really good, it's no wonder they have been in business for so long! Grazie!
We went to this pizzeria & it was a wonderful experience. From the very first moment, we were welcomed with kindness & warmth by the entire staff, & we truly felt at home. The pizza & their cuisine in general are delicious. The owner is a fantastic person, passionate & proud of his roots; you can clearly feel how much love he puts into preserving Italian cuisine & the traditions of his homeland. A place that warms the heart as well as the stomach. Highly recommended!
First time there but my waiter Phil made me feel like a regular. He suggested the prosuto pizza with buratta that is not on the menu. Calamari & eggplant as entrés & the rest is a party in your mouth. Water gents buzzing around filling your glass. As we left at avout 18h30 on a Friday, regulars were gathered at the door to be seated. If you want & like classic Italian food made & served with passion/care, you cannot go wrong with Elio's. They do thin crust or thicker crust as you wish.
Food wise it is not what it used to be. The pizza is bland & uninspired. This place used to be the best pizzeria in town. Unfortunately now the pizza is really nowhere near the Italian standard. Sad to see such an institution of the community arrive to this point. Pizza needs a lot of work.
The Good:
- Simple & delicious Italian Menu
- Their pizzas has a thicker crust with a nice chew to it
- Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente & the meat sauce had a rich flavor with perfect acidity
Things to Improve:
- The decor is outdated
- Cutlery need to be changed to newer ones
- Waiters can be more attentive

Cucina italianissima e pizza buonissima. Personale gentilissimo, attento e veloce. Lo consiglio vivamente.
Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations. It felt more Americanized than authentically Italian, lacking the depth & simplicity we were hoping for. If you're looking for a true Italian dining experience, this might not be the place.
Had the spaghetti aglio olio & fries. Portions were generous & very reasonably priced. Food was very delicious & service was great as well. Spacious restaurant, worth making a trip here if you're craving Italian cuisine!
