Perfect destination for visitors to the city to try Montreal smoked meat. Perfect diner vibes, comforting food that was very tasty & fresh. Service was friendly & down to earth. This or Schwartz's? Followed the recommendation of a native of Montreal & tried Dunns. The smoked meat is delicious, just the right amount of tender, fat, & seasoning. The bread can't handle the meat but who cares! Lots of mustard, coleslaw & a dill pickle makes this an unforgettable lunch. & of course the poutine was Devine! Strongly recommend. No nonsense service & a staple of Montreal's food culture.View more

There is a nice selection. I'm not fan of hot dog poutine but general tao one never disappointed me. Fish & chips was ok. Nothing special. Their latkes (potato pancakes) were missing salt big time. It's one of my favourite dish & I was very disappointed. We also tried karnatzel, which I don't recommend. I feel like you should eat this cold since it's a dried sausage, meanwhile it was served hot soaked in oil. I think we just got a beef hotdog instead with a side of a pickle. Their coleslaw is good, not too much vinegar there like most of the places I tried. Their chocolate cake is very tasty.View more

A great restaurant I've been here many times but here is my opinion. 01 Nov, 2024 around 5:40PM. Pros: A) The restaurant is decked out with many memorabilia. B) It feels nice & homey. C) The food is really good love their smoked meat & Reubens sandwiches. D) Surprisingly the prices are okay even though it's a little bit pricey but the taste is okay & delicious. E) Easily accessible by Metro & near Eaton Centre & other shops. Location is good. F) Washrooms is clean though they should maintain it more. Cons: A) Parking is difficult on streets so you need to find alternative parking. B) Our waiter is good but I can tell she's having a little difficulty with English. They need more bilingual & more outgoing waiters. C) The restaurant needs to be better maintained & just have better service but the service that night was okay they need to be better positively. Conclusion: Love the restaurant & I would recommend this place for simple delicious food God Bless the people who keep it going.View more

I hate to leave anything less than a stellar review for a legacy institution like Dunn's...but it was okay. Don't think I'd recommend the smoked meet egg rolls which were more like pizza pockets. The poutine was pretty good but think for the next try I'd keep it traditional. Quite a few interesting poutine varieties. I'd certainly give it another try with different choices for the next visit.View more

We had a fantastic lunch here at Dunn's! We ordered the large combo & upgraded the side to onion rings which were really yummy! The smoked meat is divine, so were all the other dishes we ordered (mozzarella sticks & chicken salad). Highly recommend coming here!View more

We tried Dunn's for the first time & the service was impeccably fast. The host was patient with us as well. Although we ordered take-out, the place had a nice ambiance with lots of seating. We got poutine as well as the smoked meat sandwich. We also ordered the Dunn's famous smoked meat poutine & the smoked meat burger. The smoked meat poutine was covered in smoked meat & packed with flavour. There was a perfect ratio of cheese curds to gravy to fries as well. The smoked meat burger did not quite live up to our expectations. The burger patty itself was dry & there was only a few slices of smoked meat. On the other hand, the smoked meat sandwich was great! Highly recommend. If you're ever in Montreal, definitely hit up this spot.View more
