Review Summary

Daou is described as a decades old Lebanese spot where care goes into homestyle and family style cooking. The menu highlights favorites like fattoush, hummus, baba ganoush, warm vine leaves stuffed with meat and rice, and a mixed plate of chicken filet mignon with fries and rice. Reviews consistently note reliable quality, fresh flavors, and a cozy authentic atmosphere, making it a go to for family dinners and gatherings. Some comments mention small portions for the price and that it is fairly expensive for what is offered, with a dated decor and room for improvement in the vibe. The location in St Laurent is convenient with free parking, and the menu also includes raw meat options and a filet mignon cooked to perfection, with dessert if there is room.

This is an old school & traditional family run restaurant. No glitz no glam, simple & straight forward. We ordered traditional hummus, which was super smooth & tasty. Fattouch & tabouleh which were fresh & well seasoned. We also got the coriander potatoes which were drowning in lemon juice along with shish kebab, kafta, lamb & salmon. The meats & fish were all cooked perfectly. We did find that everything was salty & overall all had a very citrusy taste which isn't necessarily bad but lacked diversity. The waiters are friendly & quick & we left feeling quite full as the portions are very generous. The other customers were all Lebanese so i think this is definitely a favourite for some.

I have been a regular at this restaurant for many years. I am vegan & they have a large selection available for vegans. I recommend the yaprak vine leaves (vegetable), fattoush, tabbouleh, vegetable kebbe, hummus tahini, loubieh, & the Hendbeh. The food is fresh & the service is always very friendly & efficient..this is why it continues to be one of my favourites.

This has been one of our favourites for many years. Excellent food with an ample choice. Although the service can be a bit slow & cold the overall experience is great.
The odd times when there has been an issue they were quick to correct the problem. Having travelled around the world I have never been in a restaurant that did not occasionally have an error or problem, however they are quick to correct & compensate. Whereas other restaurants in Montreal may correct they rarely if ever compensate.
