Daou Restaurant on Faillon street serves some of the city's best Lebanese home style cooking. Some dishes on the menu include: hummus with ground meat, stuffed grape leaves (yabrak), chicken, shrimps, minced lamb, filet mignon and delicately seasoned kabobs. Singer Céline Dion and her husband have enjoyed this casual restaurant on many occasions. Restaurant Daou also offers a great catering service.
Daou is viewed as a top choice for Lebanese cuisine in Montreal, with reviews highlighting fresh, authentic flavors and a warm Lebanese inspired ambiance. Some reviews caution that it is not the best Montreal has to offer. The menu offers good variety and generous portions, with well prepared grilled meats and flavorful dips, though a few dishes are described as lacking flavor and some prices feel high for the quality. Service is consistently praised as attentive and friendly, contributing to a welcoming dining experience and making many want to return. Overall, the consensus is that Daou delivers solid and enjoyable Lebanese food and stands out as one of the better options in Montreal, with some patrons calling it a Montreal gem.
Unfortunately, a very well-known restaurant for many years, the last few times we visited, the food was not fresh, Overpriced, the cook in the back was walking around with her gloves & touching everything in the dining room. We question whether or not she had changed her gloves in between mixing the salad. This will be our last visit.
Truly this resto sits on top in arabic restaurants in Montreal… The food is so fresh & tastes really authentic! Definitely coming back again. Thank you!

decent spot if you're craving Lebanese food, though not the best Montreal has to offer. I went with a friend & we ordered the mixed grill plate along with Fattouch, Hummus, & Muhamara. The Fattouch was missing vinegar & pomegranate sauce, & the Muhamara was quite bland & lacked flavor. On the bright side, the grilled meats were well done & enjoyable. I have other go-to spots for Middle Eastern cuisine, so I wouldn't call this my favorite, but it's not a bad option.
