Crêperie du Marché is described as a lively Breton inspired spot inside Jean Talon Market, offering a wide range of gluten free and buckwheat galettes alongside many savory and sweet crepes made to order. Reviewers praise fresh ingredients, delicate fillings, and generous portions that feel satisfying, with many mentioning the option to customize fillings and to enjoy vegan or vegetarian choices. Friendly and efficient staff are repeatedly highlighted, keeping service fast even when the market is busy and lines are long. Some notes point to a higher price point and occasional crepes that are a touch burnt or overly salty, but most consider the quality and variety to justify it. Overall, Crêperie du Marché stands out in the market for its authentic Breton flair, reliable gluten free offerings, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a go-to stop for both locals and visitors.
My mother & I researched this place in advance & were looking forward to our visit, but we were disappointed by the service. I asked my mother to stay at the table while I went to place our order. The staff asked my mother to get out of her seat to make room for a couple who had already made it through the line & had their food. She explained that she was waiting for her daughter in the line, but no one listened. The place was crowded, but there were other places to sit, so asking her to give up her seat was unnecessary, & my mother felt embarrassed. If there was a sign about seating, we didn't see it. This put a stain on our entire experience. While we were there, we saw another couple do the same thing (wife sat at a table while the husband joined the line). The wife was told to move to another table, but my mother was asked to stand up. I can not comment on the food, but it was okay. We stayed to eat our meals & the staff turned more polite & helpful after we had our food & began to eat.
When I got to the crêperie, I was too sure what to order, but the lady there was really helpful. I wanted something sweet but at the same salty. She suggested La Virée which is a crêpe with ham, suisse cheese, maple syrup, & cooked apples. It was delicious!! The kids had the Banalec which is a crêpe with bananas & dark chocolate spread, & they got extra strawberries (extra cost). It was also delicious!

Crepe is really good. We ordered the crepe with chestnut sauce. Delicious! But we wait quite a long time so we have to ask the server, turned out they forgot our order.
The crepes were delicious. My daughter is celiac & she enjoyed them. Coffee was good too. After this we went across the market to buy a chestnut buttercream since it was so yummy

We've been going to this crêperie for years, & then had a break of 5 years from Montreal. Went back this week, & the galettes were even more delicious!! We are sold. Love that everything is GF, as well.
Crepes were good. Severely overpriced. If you want take out they charge you extra. They have a vegan crepe. In addition to the price they charge $1.29 extra for vegan butter. Total rip off.
