This place came highly recommended to me, & did not disappoint! The atmosphere is incredibly lively yet sophisticated which can be challenging to find on a weekend out. There was a large variety of drinks to choose from, & they were strong, delicious, & fun to watch being served (I highly recommend the drink with burning sage in it!)
Cozy speakeasy downtown Montreal. I didn't realize it was a speakeasy, & couldn't find it at first, but there is a sign on a glass door & someone is there to lead you into a dimly lit basement bar. All the cocktails are made with mezcal or tequila & they're excellent. The staff is friendly & attentive as well.

Upon walking in we were greeted by Yanick who was smiling & gave great service. As we walked down to the bar I met the bartender Thomas who was fantastic, answered all my questions & took time to make me a perfect cocktail. 11/10 would recommend & will definitely be back. Thanks Clandestino!
I've never tasted a better tasting spicy margarita than I have here & quite honestly I'll probably never taste one as good ever again. 10/10 vibes. 10/10 drinks. 10/10 experience. I didn't catch the owner's name but he kills the drinks & he explained the science behind it all & I'm still in awe by it. If you're in Montreal you have to come in for an amazing speakeasy experience!
Personalized & attentive service. Bartenders were keen & passionate to share about which signature cocktails would suit my palate & educate me about different types of tequilas & mezcals. Having their mezcal riff on a corpse reviver #2 was a welcome offering.

I had a wonderful evening at this beautiful speakeasy. The atmosphere from the lights to the music were perfect. Michael & Thomas made incredible craft cocktails! 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Definitely worth going to Clandestino's. Rare is it to find Tequila & Mezcal selections like this. With bartenders who have a deep understanding of those spirits. Will definitely go back. Sit at the bar with Michel if you can, he'll teach you a lot. ;)
Notre visite au Clandestino était imprévue mais tres impressionnante. Nous ne connaissions aucunement le bar, mais nous avons été surpris de voir que c'est un bar caché! L'ambiance superbe, un petit bar tranquille avec pratiquement toute les sortes de tequila & de mezcal! Le barman Will nous a vraiment impressionné avec toutes ses connaissances & les faits intéressants sur le mezcal. Les cocktails sont originaux, délicieux & très bien décorés. Certainement pas notre dernière visite!
