2026: great cocktails.
2018: Excellent service, drinks are great but they only serve tequila & mezcal. The chicken tacos were delicious. The mushroom pizza unluckily tasted exclusively like caramelized onions despite the how great it sounded on the menu.

Love tequila? Looking for a speakeasy while in Montreal? We've got you covered! Clandestino is a tequila bar hidden beneath the hopping restaurant upstairs.

Head through the hidden door, into a hallway & down some very dark stairs & you'll find yourself an intimate spot for some tequila cocktails.

We both loved our drinks. CL got a couple but his favorite was the Ocho which had cacao & mole, to make for a'damn good' cocktail. I had the Passion Amarga, which was also delicious.

We loved the vibe, it felt like being in a friends living room, with the furniture & the music was at a perfect level. The service was wonderful. The staff really helped us with picking out the perfect cocktails.

Stop in here if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Le Clandestino est clairement devenu mon speakeasy préféré à Montréal.
L'ambiance est incroyable : intime, élégante & authentique, avec une vraie identité autour du Mezcal & de la Tequila. On sent immédiatement la passion derrière chaque cocktail & chaque recommandation.

La sélection de mezcals est impressionnante, autant pour les amateurs que pour ceux qui veulent découvrir cet univers. Les cocktails sont travaillés, équilibrés & pleins de caractère. Clandestino is one of my favourite places in Montreal. Amazing to have a date or to hangout with friends. It's cosy, with a little bit of ambience & the staff is incredibly nice. They have an amazing selection of tequila & mezcal!

Thomas made our night at this gem of a speakeasy in Vieux Montreal unforgettable. From the start, he was warm, welcoming & incredibly knowledgeable. After just a few questions, he served up a selection of Mezcals & Tequilas that were unique & perfectly selected.
What truly stood out was his attentiveness & genuine personality & knowlege of his craft.
He elevated the entire experience.
I would go back in a heartbeat specifically because of his service. If you get a seat at his hard to find bar, you're in for something special & unforgettable.

Speakeasy style basement bar under a glow of red lights. Super cool. These were the best tequila drinks we've ever had. Try the old fashioned style one infused with duck fat from Bonaparte across the street.
