I don't rate a lot of restaurants this high, but the flavors, presentation, service & overall ambiance was great. A very cozy & great evening.
Delicious!! This was our first time having Peruvian food, it was amazing!
My wife & I came to this restaurant to commemorate our anniversary, & we can say with certainty that it was one of the best experiences we've had. It's all thanks to our server, Jade. She was warm & very knowledgeable-she made us feel at ease & was always on top of things. Normally, we don't leave reviews on Google, but the service & food were well worth it. Thank you for a great experience & for making our special day even more memorable!
We were excited to have some peruvian cuisine getting there but we had the surprise that their cuisine has'a Chinese twist'. Most of the menu is made of Chinese style pork, or fried chicken. They only have two or three fish options on the menu, we choose the starter ceviche (which was really good), the other'ceviche' was made of Chinese style cooked pork. I'm not an expert but it really didn't feel like we were eating a ceviche, it wasn't bad but if we wanted Chinese food we would have walked a few blocks away to China Town & would have paid our dinner for much less. The beef dish we had was ridiculously small & pricey. The quantities are ridiculously small, which is why they encourage you to select 3 to 5 dish for 2 persons to share. (But the price is the same as an average full dish you could get somewhere else). Disappointing. Our server was nice though!
Skewers & chow mein were amazing. Sour cocktails were really good too & we loved the ambiance
Went for the first time in Chifa yesterday & we loved it ! Everything was great & our waitress Jade was truly amazing made the experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this place
It was an experience. It wasn't out of this world flavor for me though. I enjoyed the company more than the food. Also, I think the waitress had too many tables? Everything was delayed (water, my drink completely forgotten… etc)
I love this place! The food is absolutely stunning & the vibe & service is always delightful
This place was the best part of our trip to Montreal! Excellent flavors in the food, drinks were delicious as well. Would highly recommend stopping in here!
Traditionally, Chifa is a fusion restaurant resulting of the Chinese immigrants living in Peru & characterized by the small minimalist style & the huge portions served. Now part of the peruvien traditional food.
This concept has been brought to Montreal & that's make the difference between the other many Peruvian restaurants in town.
Style & decorations are mimic of a traditional peruvien chifa restaurant but fancier.
Food os not served in huge portions neither but, as peruvien myself, I was surprised by the taste, flavours & quality of dishes. We ordered like 4 different items from the menu & none of them was disappointed, on the contrary, we were very pleased & happy of this discovery. So price is justified.
Take a time to observe the kitchen & the chefs working on it through the big glass behind it, is a must see experience.
They have Inca Kola, a must with chifa food.
They have some other diches in the menu not typical of a chifa restaurant but nevertheless are very welcome, like the lucuma ice cream & pisco sour.
Service is there, good & friendly enough to feel treated. They have a terrace outside also to enjoy the summer season.
*review updated after 2 years & still the same. Keep the high standards!
Bon mais quand même cher pour la taille des plats, bon service & endroit populaire
I'm peruvian & the pollo chi jau Kai tasted just like in Peru. Music was spot on & service was polite & consistent. We had a great time.
Un savoureux mélange de cuisines chinoise & péruvienne. Quelle belle découverte!
I was looking forward to trying some peruvian chinese food, which I've never had before. The dish I would come back for is the Lomo Saltado. The beef was tender, well seasoned & the tomatoes were a great burst of flavour. The other dishes were also fine, just not as memorable as I was hoping it would be.
It is a littler on the pricier side & reservations are recommended. We walked in with a party of 4 & got seated at the bar which was pretty fun because you could see the different dishes they prepared.
Amazing food. Tapas style, so you can try lots of different flavours. Best meal we ate in Montreal.
nourriture & saveurs excellentes! Portion un peu petite pour le prix… Lomo saltado, empandas & pastel de choclo débile!! Suggestion: ajouter un pain pour manger avec les sauces 🤤
Excellent dishes, loved the Saldado & chow mein. Very friendly service.
