It’s fast food, but made to order. The result of a late-night chat, and a handful of cooks. Who wanted to put the salt back in the butter. A bag of cheese curds that goes with supper. Assembled hot dogs, made proper. And fine toppings on a beautiful burger. But! You must order from the counter, and get up again when it’s ready to gather, except on weekends, and only for coffee (maybe with sugar). Prepared like it was meant to be, no fodder. You can arrive here hither or thither, it really doesn’t matter. Even better. Tous, chez Tousignant.

Le service est excellent & chaleureux.
L'espace est plutôt petite. Pas bcp de place.
Le cheeseburger est excellent avec leur sauce maison.
Par contre, c assez dispendieux. Je ne conseille pas d'y aller avec des enfants.
This used to be one of the best burger spot in Montreal me & my mother used to eat there all the time when we craved a good burger or a poutine.
Nowadays portions are smaller than ever the burgers are messy too much sauce mediocre ingredients & the pattys are chewy.
Honestly so disappointed especially since its on the pricier side for burgers & poutine nowadays it is really just not justified to charge such pricings for such mediocre mess!
By the way I paid 14 bucks for a snack size poutine how ridiculous..😂

Excellent hot-dog. La saucisse, le pain & la sauce sont fait maison, ce qui donne un hot-dog très différent & meilleur. Les frites sont parfaites. Servi avec bacon fumé & poivré, fromage & cornichons. Vaut le détour!
On aime bien d'habitude le burger de Tousignant & c'est de la bonne « comfort » food donc en ce samedi soir devant un match des canadiens , on a pas hésité. Malheureusement cette fois-ci les proportions des poutines étaient décevantes pour une grande poutine & une poutine régulière, & ce malgré la reconnaissance que « tout coûte plus cher ». La sauce « gravy », un élément si important aux poutines, n'était pas au rendez-vous. En espérant que ce commentaire soit lu comme une critique constructive & que le restaurant ajustera son offre.
I have been going there since hopening, the poutine wasn't has good as usual & way too much sauce this time in my hamburger!! Also I was looking for the toussignant soft drinks & no more??
Tu sais, le sentiment de payé trop cher pour quelques chose de très ordinaire, les reviews sont tous tellement positif que j'y suis allé, 10$ le hot dog, 15$ le format de poutine que ma niece de 2 ans aurai encore faim après, petit conseille mes amis, pour la poutine faite griller vos frittes un peu plus & arrêté d'inonder la poutine de sauce, j'ai l'impression de boire une soupe ak des morceaux de pattates molles dedans. J'ai pas essayer le burger, j'avais oublié mon chèquier, mais guys revoyer vos prix & donnez un produit de meilleur qualité. Ambiance quand meme cool soit dit en passant.

Simple & flavourful , they do a killer poutine , the poutine gravy must have chicken broth , sauce does not taste salty. & fries are great too. Don't miss it!
So glad I got the Double Cheeseburger. Don't settle for single patty.

Patties - crispy edges, juicy, beefy
Cheese, sauce, toppings all perfectly balanced

Je fréquente ce petit restaurant de quartier depuis son ouverture. Le rapport qualité/prix était excellent. J'ai fait une longue pause avant d'y retourner (fermeture le midi en semaine depuis la covid). Ça ne collait plus avec mes disponibilités. Selon moi on y servait les meilleurs hamburger / frite / poutine du quartier. En fin de semaine, j'y suis retourné, avec ma famille Je n'ai pas reconnu le restaurant d'avant. Le service à la caisse était minimaliste & les prix ont explosés, comme ailleurs, mais en pire !!! Mon petit garçon de 7 ans a commandé le hot-dog. Il a reçu une saucisse inondée de ketchup trônant sur un misérable pain pour la modique somme de 7,25$+tx+tip. Pas de cornichon, de chou ou quoique ce soit d'autre, juste une rivière de ketchup. Il m'a dit « c'est ça le hot-dog de chez Tousignant ? ». J'ai demandé pourquoi il n'était pas garni, on m'a répondu parce que je ne l'avais pas demandé... la caissière n'a même pas envisagé me proposer de le compléter. Notez qu'il en coûte 3,25 pour agrémenter sa frite de la fameuse sauce Tousignant...Je suis vraiment attristé de voir ce qu'est devenu mon restau de burger préféré. Je n'y retournerai plus.
Après plusieurs années j'étais curieux d'essayer ce casse-croûte. Le résultat n'a pas été à la hauteur de mes attentes. Frites trop cuites & cheeseburger vraiment ordinaire (sauce type Big Mac). Le décor style diner se fait vieillissant. Pas de papier à main dans la machine distributrice mais en revanche trois bouteilles de savon à proximité du lavabo !
Simple menu for a casse-croûte ! The spécial sauce on burgers tested like the big Mac sauce, & personally, I didn't find the burger special. As my hubby says: "c'est rien pour écrire à sa mère !" On the flip sid, the fries were really good! The wait times were not long, the servers were really nice, & the restaurant had crayons for the kids. Overall, cute place but didn't replace my current favourite burger place.
I ordered the hot dog tousignant & small poutine - this was an ok poutine, but definitely not my favourite - there was a good balance of fries/cheese/gravy however the gravy had no flavour & the fries were soggy. The hot dog had a good flavour (it was made in-house) but the mayo sauce was very overpowering, the few bites I had with less sauce were great. Poutine 3/5 Hot Dog 4/5

Définitivement overpriced. 50$ pour une poutine, deux burgers & un milkshake. Bonne sauce, vraiment rien d'unique. Je suggère plutôt le nouveau système juste à côté pour la moitié du prix!
I came here to try the poutine on a Friday night. The place was decently busy but there was no lineup. We were a group of 3 & found space without any issues. The poutine was good but i thought the sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. Portion was on the smaller side but nothing offensive. The cheese was very fresh & super squeaky, I just wish the curds were a bit bigger. I'm glad I tried it but unfortunately not a place I'd come back to. They do make their own sodas which was really neat. We had the cherry Cola, the root beer & the cream soda. I had the cherry Cola & it was good but a bit too syrupy.
What I took:
- Cheeseburger
- Frite Sauce
- Chez Tousignant Root Beer
What I liked:
- The burger was phenomenal, wish I had taken the double
- Good frite sauce (old style fries similar to Julep, Belle Pro, etc)
- Good service, friendly people
What I didn't like:
- Price is a bit expensive for the burgers
- Root beer was meh
- More pickles please !!
