It’s fast food, but made to order. The result of a late-night chat, and a handful of cooks. Who wanted to put the salt back in the butter. A bag of cheese curds that goes with supper. Assembled hot dogs, made proper. And fine toppings on a beautiful burger. But! You must order from the counter, and get up again when it’s ready to gather, except on weekends, and only for coffee (maybe with sugar). Prepared like it was meant to be, no fodder. You can arrive here hither or thither, it really doesn’t matter. Even better. Tous, chez Tousignant.

Le service est excellent & chaleureux.
L'espace est plutôt petite. Pas bcp de place.
Le cheeseburger est excellent avec leur sauce maison.
Par contre, c assez dispendieux. Je ne conseille pas d'y aller avec des enfants.
Un''Greasy Spoon'' à prix exhorbitants pour du plus qu'ordinaire !
L'alléchante photo du proprio est TRÈS loin du minable cheeseburger que j'ai reçu (voir ma photo) avec une mince boulette smash, une mince tranche de fromage rétrécie, de tomates & de laitue avec 3 minus tranches de cornichon avec un timide soupçon d'oignons... & une mayo presque inexistante. Pis ça ose facturer la TOTALE, soit 11$ + tx. Leur simple hot-dog ordinaire à 7$+ tx. Du vrai vol !
Y'a plein de restos''Geasy Spoon'' de qualité nettement supérieurs... mais c'est votre choix d'accepter l'arnaque de Tousignant !

This place has the feel of a rearranged American diner with small casse-croute focused menu. I was hungry enough for two items but wasn't feeling a poutine, so I went for a cheeseburger & a hot dog. The pricing here is sensible except for the hot dog, which wasn't particularly special either. The cheeseburger was spectacular, however. Amazing texture, perfect composition. Service wasn't great. The cook was nice but the girls working there could have been friendlier.
Tried the double cheese burger. It was fine but expensive & in the end I didn't like it very much, it felt just like a brick of calories with no flavor contrast or texture contrast to me. Maybe all that cheese fusing the meat together didn't help. Maybe I'm just not really into smash burgers.

Montreal has some serious smash burgers game & I must say, Chez Tousignant, is a big player, had a double cheese burger & it did not disappoint at all, from the juicy perfectly seasoned patties to the home cut fries😀

One if the best smash burgers I've had in a long time. They are doing everything right. Recommend the Tousignant cheese burger. The fried are more than enough for two people. Great fast food near Jean Talon market

Looking for a great smash burger? Look nowhere else. This an amazing burger, warm, melt cheese with excellent beef & a great pairing bun. Very recommended. Service was also great.
So glad I got the Double Cheeseburger. Don't settle for single patty.
Buns - had the perfect texture/chew for the patties
Patties - crispy edges, juicy, beefy Cheese, sauce, toppings all perfectly balanced
The seasoning tasted like a unique blend of spices - the secret ingredient that gave this burger depth.

I came in with high expectations. They were not met. The food was okay. A decent cheeseburger (bread was mushy), a decent poutine (gravy seemed old) I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. There were no paper towels in the toilet. Overall, a generous 3 stars.
J'y suis allé en 2018, j'étais a l'époque convaincu d'avoir mangé le meilleur smash burger de Montréal. Un offre qui se rapprochais d'un burger de la chaîne in & out en Californie. Le rêve! J'y aurais donné un 5 étoiles a l'époque. Aujourd'hui victime de l'inflation & de la réduflation, leur offre est trop chère & la quantité trop petite pour leurs prix. Le goût est bon, mais la taille est franchement ridicule pour un double cheese burger. On le retrouve tout petit dans son papier, l'air triste. J'ai cherché le pain sous la galette tellement il était mince. Bien loin de mes souvenirs de 2018. Les ingrédients sont p-e de tres bonne qualité & le pain fait maison, mais cela ne justifie en aucun cas leur prix. On parle de fast food ici, & a 17$(14$+taxes) le double cheese petit qui n'inclus ni breuvage ni frites c'est a se demander si on nous ris pas en pleine face

Went there for the first time. Tried the double cheese burger & the Tousignant burger. Both were very good sized considering smash burgers are often very small. Both were very satisfying but the double cheeseburger was a tad salty. Also tried the regular poutine & it was very good. Fries, cheese curds & gravy were well put together. Perfect ratios. Regular hot dog was good also but does not taste like a regular hot dog. I think the meat was chicken. I don't usually order hot dogs but wanted to try it. I wish they had onion rings. I would definitely go back as the food was very satisfying at a reasonable price & the quality of the ingredients was apparent. The service was also excellent & friendly.
A very convenient & nice restaurant right next to the Jean Talon Market. The poutine was amazing & the cheeseburgers were very good. Love the interior which has the diner vibe & very clean. They have a high hair which was very convenient but the entrance was not very accessible.
BEST !!!! Grill cheese in my Life!!!! Service was very good, but I was very disappointed in the Bathroom awful,I ran out before I could go in!!!!! It's not easy for some to clean the bathroom ,but there is Masks,Gloves a little extra $ or rotation week might encourage your staff.
