The squire and his cur’. Celle-ci fut remplacée par un magnifique tableau du peintre et muraliste montréalais Carlito DalCeggio.

Great seafood restaurant! Pricey but top quality, fresh ingredients & generous portions. The greeting is fast & professional, the service is efficient & friendly. Overall a special place, a family owned restaurant, the interactions between the owners & their children are hilarious & makes the atmosphere very special. Arguably the best seafood restaurant in Montreal, certainly the oldest, just a 3 minute walk from the Notre Dame basilica in the Old Port. As you come in you are greeted by one of the owners through the bar section, where you can see the original stools & lamps from the 1930s. You get the feel of a classic neighborhood joint, full of regulars, very busy. The cocktails are generous (6 oz martinis). They have an outstanding seafood tower, very festive . The seafood pasta is outstanding. The Dover sole Meuniere is the house specialty, & it's the best i've had anywhere. Also we tried lobster ravioli, which was a highlight. The staff is super friendly & professional, & the owners are charming. Strongly recommend, overall a great value. Valet parking.Voir plus
The most amazing experience!! Great food, the seafood platter was fresh & tasted amazing. The waiters are very welcoming, friendly, & knowledgeable about the food. Plus, really fun to see the celebrity autographs on the walls, lots of household names!!!Voir plus
I enjoyed many good meals at the original Chez Delmo, closed now 20 years. It was a treat to visit the new Delmo's, & enjoy good fish & seafood & Malpeques properly prepared. Our waiter, Cedric, was very personable & attentive. He advised us thoughtfully about our selections & our wine. Good to see the profiteroles! Bravo à l'équipe.Voir plus
Cozy & quaint restaurant with wonderfully friendly & engaging employees...no pretense at all & we loved our meals...seafood pasta & shrimp cocktail was delicious...husband & daughter became addicted to their bread & butter! We enjoyed the experience so much...thank you for recognizing our daughter's birthday, also!Voir plus
In Montreal for 1 night & Chez Delmo was recommended to us by our hotel concierge when we inquired about a local place to eat that had great seafood. The only reservation for 2 available was at the bar & we were ok with that. In the end I am so grateful we dined at the bar as David made our experience all that much better. He was very educated on the menu, made excellent recommendations', made sure his team paid attention to all the small details & had great conversation with us. It was fun watching him mix drinks & I admired his skill, so much so that I had to order a martini after watching him expertly make them. The lobster bisque was chalked full of succulent lobster in a lovely broth. We had beef tartare, which I generally hate but absolutely loved, & oysters to start. My husband had the catch of the day (halibut) while I dined on the creole crab. Everything was superb. We met the owners & heard some of the history of Chez Delmo. It is nice to see such pride in ownership. We definitely do not regret dining here & would make this a staple when we visit.Voir plus
Visiting chez delmo was a weird experience. When you visit the website, you expect a bright seafood lovers paradise driven by a long tradition over the many years this restaurant has been open. Badges galore as we scroll on the website as they are a top 3 Montreal seafood restaurant, hence you book a table with creditcard guarantee which enhances the expectations even more. Come dinner night, you enter what can only be described as a sports bar with two tv screens playing sports in a otherwise dark, loud & cheap looking place because of the furniture. So far the ambiance. Service is top with all waiters friendly & giving advice where needed. On to the food. Fish & chips were really nice. Lots of flavour in the batter & fresh made tatare sauce. Main was the seafood pasta which, as signature dish, at 75$ cad a plate was a expensive dish for half a (very small) lobster tale, two scallops, 2 shrimps & 4 very small mussels. The dish went for a smokey flavour but ended up leaving a burned aftertaste with every bite. I would not recommend, especially if I compare a 350$ cad bill at the end of the evening.Voir plus
Amazing seafood & steak, very attentive to detail & aware of allergens. Some good gluten free options are the grilled scallops, & the shrimp cocktail they can give you a mayo instead of the cocktail sauce.Voir plus
What an amazing experience!! My Father & I visited Chez Delmo for dinner, & the hospitality, ambiance & the food was an absolute experience!! William & Benoit are my new best friends, & I highly recommend Chez Delmo if you love great seafood & great people!!Voir plus
Best seafood in Montreal. Fresh. Magnificently prepared tender fish probably steam-oven cooked. Friendly & very welcoming atmosphere. Strongly recommended.Voir plus
Wonderful place ! Best seafood in Montreal. Great staff, makes you feel at home !Voir plus
Way over priced for the quality of food that they give you. We had some of their most expensive seafood plates & none of them were good enough for the price that they're charging in quality presentation or taste. I was very disappointed, As I had Much higher expectation of this place. Will not recommend it to anyone , there are much better options for this price.Voir plus
Fabulous! That's the word I'd use to describe one of the oldest & best restaurants of Montreal, Chez Delmo. Haven't been here for a while since we live in Europe with my wife, but every time its is always a pleasure to be greeted by Benoit & his wonderful team. The food is always good, this time I've tried their new Lobster Club sandwich (btw the best sandwich I ever had) & my wife ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle, which she adored. The waiters were super nice & professional as expected, & the owner recognized us & spent a good 15 mins talking to us at our table, which was lovely. I recommend without hesitation!Voir plus
Can't remember when I had a better meal! Seafood was awesome, service was awesome, thanks Andre!Voir plus
The seafood was some of the freshest seafood I've ever tasted especially the mussels! The Canadian bread pudding was spectacular!Voir plus
I was passing by the restaurant with my husband a few days ago & we were looking for someplace to eat with a great atmosphere. We were charmed by its looks even from the street point of view, so we decided to give it a try. & we weren't dissapointed! The ambiance of the Delmo is at the same time both class & warm, & it's exactly the type of restaurants that I like the most. Great selection of seafood, some vegetarian options too (even off-menu, you can just tell the waiter you're vegetarian & the kitchen will do something special for you) & a very good service. I recommend without a doubt & will come back for sure!Voir plus
Great seafood restaurant. Nice decor, professional management. Very friendly & professional waiters. We started with cocktails & were surprised by the size of martinis: 6 ounces! We had soups (best lobster bisque) & different entrees. All were great. One of us in our party is allergic to seafood, so I mentioned when I reserved & they had planned accordingly. OveralI a great experience, quality food, reasonable prices on everything, even the wine. I could eat here everyday. The tables are far apart which is nice, & there are large windows overlooking beautiful buildings. Can't wait to go back!Voir plus
Very cozy restaurant & attentive staff. We had a delicious seafood pasta & langoustines. All staff (particularly our server, Ian) paid great attention to detail which made for a wonderful dining experience.Voir plus
Very good Friend of mine was in Town from the Caribbean this week. I personally am on a special diet & can only eat Seafood so we looked for a restaurant that served that but with a good rating. Chez Delmo seemed to be a choice that was fair enough to try. Now bear in mind that I am a critic that will tell it as it is without filter. We were greeted warmly by the host & our Jackets were hung up for us. Once seated, we didn't wait long to be greeted by our Waiter & asked wahat we would like yo drink. After ordering our entrees & food, we were given complimentary taste of something that I forgot the name of but found it unique but very tasty. For Supper, my friend ordered the Surf & Turf & I had the Holland Dover Sole. The Food was cooked just right & very tasty. The Ungava Gin Tonic / Soda was well proportioned & tasted just right. If I can give this restaurant 20 stars I would because honestly the experience there was so good. I highly recommend Chez Delmo. I certainly will be going back very soonand will definitely bring friends & family to experience this Beautiful restaurant. Thanks for reading & thank you Chez Delmo for such a wonderful experience.Voir plus
