View more
I went to Chez Alexandre for dinner & also revisited the hidden cigar lounge on the second floor, one of Montreal's best kept secrets if you're into cigars. It's been a while since I'd been, & while the space is a bit aged, it has a lot of character & history. You can bring your own cigar, & it's usually quiet during the week, which makes it a great spot to unwind. I highly recommend ordering an Americano with a shot of Baileys on the side, plus two sugar cubes. It's a simple pleasure that fits the vibe perfectly.
The food downstairs was average, but the service was good. & don't miss the photo wall on the main floor. It's packed with Montreal history & old-school charm. Fun fact for those who remember, the club next door used to be the iconic Funky Town. Also worth mentioning, this is one of the few places I know that has Peroni on tap.
If you're driving, ask about the free parking deal when you make your reservation. They offer parking in a nearby building if you're dining in. Definitely a unique spot in Montreal worth checking out.View more
We had excellent service from Selma. A lovely glass of Sancerre. We shared the smoked salmon & the avocado & crab starters & both had the duck - confit canard. The food was delicious- the best duck I have ever had. Thoroughly recommend.View more
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience last night. Alain was an outstanding host, Selma an efficient & friendly server, & Tarik made sure everything ran smoothly. Bustling, lively atmosphere as well.
Thanks!!View more
Très mauvaise soiréeView more
View more
Toujours parfait pour les business Lunch - bon bistro francais , nourriture excellente , service impécable .View more

We enjoy dining in the pleasant back room with evocative mural paintings & cheerful atmosphere.
We enjoy the warm greetings at the entrance & the friendly service inside. We return here on every visit from Philadelphia.View more
THANKS God for Chez Alexandre. SAVING the day again. After a Horrible experience a 9ième at Eaton, Chez Alexandre was what is expected of a good restaurant: great homemade food, superb attentive service & no attitude from snutty staff. All delivered at fast face at reasonable price.. Merci Alain you have beautiful daughter BTW!

Pleasantly surprised!
I had Moules, frites with a glass of white wine. Great taste, good price considering location & ambiance. Presentation of the moules was in a small cauldron, so you take the top off & this is where you put the shells. When this was full, the garçon de table switch my small & cute cauldron for a dirty looking glass bowl...add a little bit more butter with the bread. Décor is tired & needs updating, I did not take any points off for this.View more
Great experience for a business lunch. No wonder it's one of Montreal's longest standing spot! Thank youView more
