Review Summary

Chef Tang is widely regarded as a reliable neighborhood staple for authentic, made from scratch Chinese cuisine that offers generous portions and a welcoming atmosphere. Many diners appreciate the consistent quality of the food, highlighting dishes like the ginger scallion lobster and various stir-fried options, while frequently praising the friendly and accommodating service. Although most experiences are positive and reflect a home-style cooking feel, some feedback mentions occasional inconsistencies with delivery times, specific dish preparation, or clarity regarding service charges. Overall, it remains a popular local destination where patrons enjoy fresh, flavourful meals that cater to both long-time regulars and new customers.

I knew it was not going to be the healthiest meal; but I had a massive craving for some General Tso Chicken & it had been quite a while since I had a really good one. I ordered their BOGO deal which came with a side of rice; the meal was incredibly filling & super tasty, & the rice itself was also pretty good. I also added the Wonton Soup to my order; which turned out to be quite good as well.
My only real gripe with Chef Tang is the pricing structure. Many restaurants seem to inflate their BOGO prices on delivery apps; which makes it feel like you are not getting an actual discount. I would never willingly pay the regular price of nearly forty four dollars for these two meals. Furthermore, charging ten dollars for a medium soup is far too expensive; it is essentially just broth with five wontons, which breaks down to two dollars a piece.
It is definitely a solid option if you suddenly get a strong craving for Chinese takeout; but the overall cost is somewhat difficult to accept. On a final note, I really wish the kitchen would find a way to offer a low sodium option for health conscious customers; as I am pretty sure the salt levels here are not great for my blood pressure. But if you simply have to satisfy that comfort food craving, this is a good spot.

Great little Asian restaurant! We have passed by so many times & finally decided to give it a shot & we were very happy we did. We weren't exactly starving so we only ordered a plate of fried rice to share, along with some eggrolls & a wonton & hot & sour soup.

Everything was excellent. Nothing was out of a package or out of the freezer. All was made from scratch & fresh.

Service was warm & friendly & we felt like we were long time customers instead of first timers. This may have been the first time there, but it certainly will not be the last. They have a large menu, & we plan on trying most of it in the future. Considering the lack of excellent Chinese food in the area, we were really happy we gave this place a shot. I regret not taking any pictures, something I will not forget to do the next time.

Also, the restaurant was very clean & so was the washroom. So nice to see.

Highly recommended!

Usually the food here is top tier. Not sure what changed. We ordered delivery. I recommend you do not order out…. Try it in person, it's much better.

The beef & broccoli - the chicken & vegetable dishes were way too watery & lacked flavour. The peanut butter dumpling were in a soup & not anything like what I tried.

For 62$ with tip : 3 dishes & 1 small soup, taste to price ratio was below average.

Je me souviens.

Big portions of food, but almost none of it tastes any good. I ordered through Uber eats & got combo A (general tao, rice, wonton soup, beef & vegetables, spring rolls), & ordered an additional Singapore noodle & salt & pepper shrimp. The only dish that has any flavor worth mentioning is the shrimp. The beef & veg are completely tasteless. The general tao is soggy. The Singapore noodles & spring rolls tasted off.
