Very disappointing experience

My boyfriend & I visited Ceramic Café on August 19th around 7:30 PM, & unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in.

We waited for about 10 minutes in the waiting area while employees repeatedly walked in & out without even acknowledging us. When someone finally came to help us, there was no greeting or basic acknowledgment-she simply asked how many people were in our party.

At first, she was going to seat us at a perfectly reasonable table. However, another employee suggested putting us at a table squeezed tightly between two other tables. It was very clearly an uncomfortable spot, especially when there were several other tables available. We politely asked if we could sit somewhere else, but were told that this was the *only* available spot.

What was especially frustrating is that we were paying customers who came to Ceramic Café to relax, enjoy our time, & paint ceramics. If there are other tables available, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect employees to clean another table for two customers rather than make them sit somewhere uncomfortable.

Ceramic Café, please remind your employees that customer service matters. People are paying not only for the ceramics, but also for the experience & their time there. A simple acknowledgment, a friendly attitude, & a willingness to accommodate customers when possible would have made a huge difference.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, we left feeling unwelcome rather than excited to spend our evening there.

In general was ok but services can be better, i went with my kids & when i went to pay the charge me the Price of two adults so i went back & say my son was under 13 so it should be a kids price, employee said she couldn't reimburse me because manager wasn't there to come back the next day so I ask what's the difference of the price & she answer only 1$ so I said ok, I was about to leave & I say the prices & I saw that it was a 3$ so I went back & I caught the employee & another coworker making fun of me because I had told the. Not to assume that my kid was over 13 & they should have asked before charging, so I told her the difference is not 1! Is 3$ & she just answer I didn't know so I just said a number. So I told her if you don't know just don't answer anything , you shouldn't lie. It's not about the amount is just the fact of what she did. My visit was on August 3

I went to Céramique Café Laval with my kids & unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

My invoice came to 133 $ taxes included, but I was charged 150 $ on my card. Before I tapped, the employee simply told me that the total was 150 $. I paid, & only afterward did I receive the receipt, which showed a 17 $'remise'. I had never been told that there was a mandatory 17 $ charge, nor did I choose to leave a 17 $ tip.

I went back inside to ask about it. The employee told me that it was basically a tip & that it was the'policy of the place.' I explained that a tip should be my choice & that nobody had informed me before I paid that I would be charged an additional 17 $. She became upset & started crying, telling me that it was management's decision & that she couldn't do anything, & that I should come back another day to speak with the manager.

What made the situation even more concerning was that I asked for the POS terminal receipt showing the 150 $ transaction, since my bank account clearly shows that I was charged 150 $. Instead of providing it, she removed the papers from the POS terminal & threw them in the garbage, then told me that the machine didn't have any paper & didn't work.

I understand that employees may simply be following management's instructions, & I don't blame her personally for a policy she says she didn't create. But a mandatory charge should be clearly disclosed before a customer pays, especially when it is presented afterward as something resembling a tip.

I don't live nearby & don't want to make another trip just to discuss a 17 $ charge. I'm leaving this review so management can see what happened & hopefully clarify publicly what this'17 $ remise' actually represents & why customers are not informed about it before payment.

I would appreciate an explanation &, ideally, a refund of the 17 $ if it was not voluntarily authorized.

I been to the concept before. Walked in yesterday, was like a gazillion degrees.
Got assigned a table, ok pretty much same drill as always but I didn't enjoy so much my experience as sweat was dripping all over myself & my family's faces.

We paid & walked out before we were done. We were not having fun. I walked to get juice in the car, with a breeze & open space... It was cooler outside.

The workers explained how the AC is broken. I understand that unforseen conditions can happen.
Sure.
But customers come first. Always.

Offer me some cold juice, give me 15% off.
Recognize that my experience is discomforting but I'm still here contributing to your business.
As a customer, I want to feel recognized & appreciated.

I won't be going back.
