Smash burgers are delicious, you could taste the meat excellent ….staff super sweet & patient & the vibe is on point for a burger join!!! What else could you ask for !! Oh yaaaa the fries STOP insane
The burger was great & full of flavor. However, I was disappointed by the poutine. The fries seemed like leftovers-mostly small, burnt pieces that had a bitter taste to them-& it definitely needed more gravy.

Très bon burger & leur'loaded fried' c'est a? essayé ! Seul commentaire serais qui investisse dans un meilleure système de filtration d'air. La cuisson des burgers envahis l'air & malheureusement en saison hivernal sa étouffe
À Montréal, des burgers, il y en a partout & ça devient difficile de se démarquer. Mais honnêtement, Mange Dans Mon Hood sort vraiment du lot.
& je dis ça en connaissance de cause : des casse-croûtes, j'en ai fait pas mal à travers le Québec. Des petits spots de région aux adresses plus connues en ville. Quand une place se démarque vraiment, ça paraît… & quand tu vois autant de bons reviews sur Google, tu comprends que la place fait clairement quelque chose de bien.
Ici, ce que j'ai aimé, c'est que l'endroit ne se complique pas la vie. Le menu est simple & tout est clairement pensé pour faire un smash burger vraiment bien exécuté. Le pain est moelleux, la galette est parfaitement smashée avec ce petit croustillant sur les bords, & tout est super bien équilibré.
J'ai vu certaines critiques qui comparent ce style de burger à quelque chose de très'fast-food'. Mais pour moi, c'est exactement l'inverse. Quand c'est bien fait comme ici, la simplicité devient une force. On sent que chaque détail est maîtrisé & que rien n'est là par hasard.
Les frites sont fines & croustillantes, parfaites pour accompagner le burger. & si vous voulez pousser l'expérience un peu plus loin, les Ol' Dirty Fries valent vraiment la peine.
L'endroit est petit, oui, mais ça donne vraiment l'impression d'un spot de quartier où on vient pour la bonne bouffe.
Au final, MDMH rappelle qu'un burger n'a pas besoin d'être compliqué pour être excellent. Il doit juste être parfaitement fait.
I initially saw videos of this place on social media & decided to give it a try because the burgers looked delicious. The burgers were decent, but quite expensive for the size. I tried both the Cali & the Happy Burger, & the Cali was definitely the better of the two. Overall, the burgers felt a bit overhyped for the price. The fries were the thinnest I've ever had, & the poutine was just okay.
This place has an amazing, cozy vibe as soon as you walk in. It feels like an old-school vintage spot filled with memories & great energy. The food exceeded my expectations - I had the Cali burger with a poutine that had a beef patty in it . In addition, it's budget-friendly. I'll definitely be coming back & sharing this amazing spot with my friends.

Overall good fast food, Cali burguer was tasty & Poutine Ol'dirty 2.0 was good not spicy, but fries are too dark maybe overcooked or fried in old oil. A cool street vibe, just to eat but not to stay long, not too ventilated so your clothes might end up smelling.
Casse-Croute is a hidden underground fast-food place in the area of Jean Talon. I came to this place because they told me they have the best Burger of Montréal, honestly I don't think is the best, The burger was fresh & tasty but a little bit overcooked its a like a copy of a Big Mac Burger from Macdonalds. a hamburger without lettuce & without double bread.
The French fries were tasty even though they look a little bit burn. They have other things on the menu like poutines.
For the Atmosphere of the place you may find on the walls many stickers related to Asian culture movies all other kind of stuff. Temperature for the winter gets a little cold inside the restaurant.
For the service, orders are fast . But for the guy a the cash needs little more of contact with customers. Smiling is free.
been here a few times the veggie burger is phenomenal & there mdmh sauce is to die for !!! nice cozy place with really cool art on the walls ,extremely friendly staff!!!! my only complaint is about the fries, i really hope some changes can be made in regards to this as other reviews have pointed out. the fries Always come out so thin ,i understand that they are shoe string style, but this is way too thin & there are alottt of little bits that are bottom of the bag like pieces .i stopped ordering the fries all together because every time it was just a miss. but 100% return regularly for the veggie Cali burger . i love fries with my burger ,i hope some changes can be made

i have to say, this place is in the top 5 for smash burgers spots in & around montreal. burgers abit smaller than the competition & the fries are on the dry side. not a bad place to go for a smash
I ate here for the first time today, & am I ever glad to have found it! Great food, people, & atmosphere - decor & music 😀
The owners are so friendly & helpful; I meant to order poutine, but ordered fries with our combos in error, & they were very accommodating & happy to fix my mistake.
As for the food... this is, hands down, the BEST smash burger 🍔 I've ever had. The fries were fresh, crispy, & lightly seasoned. Poutine gravy is A+.

Best smash burgers in the city with a fun, nostalgic vibe. Go for the Cali. The loaded fries are also great but quite heavy. Poutine is also very solid.
Petit restaurant smash burger. Burger Cali extra bacon jam, ajoute un ptit kick de plus, merci au jalapeno. Ol' Dirty Fries fait la job. C'est bon. Mais une meilleure ventilation serait bénéfique, parce que ça sent fort le gras de viande quand tu manges en dedans. Good job.
If I had to invent my idea of the perfect burger this is it. The bacon jam is an absolute must it just takes the burger to a whole other level. The decor is perfect just adds to the whole experience. The staff are courteous & friendly & the service is quick. This has now become my go to burger place.
A nice small burger spot. The staff is nice & welcoming! The food was a bit underwhelming. The portion of the fries was disappointing, the taste was'just okay'. The burger was good, not much to say on that.
I've heard raving reviews about this place &, in terms of the vibe & staff, they're spot on. The staff are super friendly & fast to serve, & the music & atmosphere in this spot is unique. It's a small basement restaurant, but with enough room to dance to the nice tunes.
The food is where this place loses me. The fries were soggy & mushy, though decently seasoned, but a lot of little bits & potato skin pieces. The burger was extremely greasy, to the point where oil was literally pouring out of the wrapping paper. The burger also looked like it has been squished into a ball, compared to all the gorgeous photos I see in other reviews. It was covered in sauce, which is not bad, because I like a juicy burger, but it was a bit too much. Thankfully, they had given me a mountain of napkins, which were necessary. Worst of all, I found an eyelash (or a short hair) imbedded in the meat of my patty when I was nearly done eating. That completely put me off my food.
I feel like my experience is not the norm, & I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I need some time before I come back to this spot.
