The best restaurant of our trip to Montreal. Exceptionally high-quality, seasonal ingredients, open kitchen, & excellent service. It definitely deserves a Michelin star in the future!

Very unique space off the main road, outside on the patio & attached to a small garden. Food was wonderful, service very warm, & all around a fantastic place to have had my sisters birthday dinner ✨✨✨

The set menu was fantastic, with a few delightful surprises along the way. My personal highlight was the asparagus starter, which is enjoyed by hand - a fun & unique experience. The wine pairing was also excellent, featuring some great local selections. You can really tell the staff love what they do, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

Pre fixe menu with limited choice. We went as a couple in June 2025. All local ingredients from Quebec & we had the wine pairing. Very interesting wines & really pleasant staff. The outdoor seating was lovely. Location is in the middle of a park & half of a church, so a little difficult to find.

Candide is an absolutely amazing restaurant!! It's a local gem, with an emphasis on farm to table cuisine. The vibe is relaxed & casual & the quality of the food is top notch. I had the lamb leg with cucumber & yogurt for my main, & it was honestly one of the best food combos I've ever had!! The service is also excellent - all of the servers we interacted with were extremely friendly. I would go back to Candide in a heartbeat!

The restaurant is behind a church, there are no signs - call for directions before you come & expect a slow paced meal. If you don't speak French there will be communication issues - make sure you are understood clearly. The food is great & it's a beautiful meal but there are certain details they do not attend to … they didn't ask me how I wanted my lamb cooked & it came out to the table rare … dessert came out mostly melted … we asked twice to have more timely service because we had a concert to go to after but the staff still didn't come by to get our check in a timely way.

Without a doubt one of the top five restaurants where I've dined in my 70+ years. Low-key & intimate vibe, cordial & attentive wait staff, but the food is sublime. Chef John Winter Russel curated a delightful prix fixe menu with local ingredients & the skill of a Michelin-star chef.
